Those guys are several generations old as far as the current game and how its played.

I expect Moose and Aikman to be phased out as well as Jimmy Johnson and Irvin.

Those guys had careers 20+ years ago.

Thats ancient in media years.

Television is a young man's game. Usually, women are more frequently replaced as they age than men are.

But as the NFL tries to appeal to the younger generation, it's going to have to replace some of the old heads. Berman likely isn't going anywhere because he's an institution. And Tom Jackson probably will be by Berman's side until Berman isn't able to perform on air anymore because he's sort of like the Tonto to Berman's Lone Ranger.

But everyone else is fair game.

ESPN needs to refine MNF. I'm not a fan of their announcers, production and everything else about it. It's disrespectful to even put it in the same primetime category as SNF.

I don't even watch MNF anymore except if the Cowboys are on or if I'm interested in what my fantasy players are doing. MNF used to be an event. Now, it's almost an afterthought. :(

I feel like there's more behind this grand exodus than we know. With Tirico, Skip Bayless, and et al all leaving in some form I can only theorize that either A) there's been a major organizational change at ESPN which the guys who left of their own Accord didn't agree with and the guys who got fired didn't fit in with or B) there's been some serious pay cuts due to Fox sports gaining in viewership. Also the Longhorn Network is a massive failure which cost ESPN $300 million over ten years (I think it's 10) so they have to make up ground somewhere.

Again, these are just my theories as to what is going on at ESPN.

Same here. I don't think I've watched more than 2 MNF games per year since SNF came around.

You mean Mike Kardashian? He's rode that one sb victory for far too long, imo he's the most overrated coaches in NFL history. He had the best defense in NFL history and manage to win only 1 super bowl, and anyone who knows anything knows that Buddy Ryan's 46 defense was the reason for the one. After Ryan left they went down hill. He goes to the Saints and trade the whole draft for Ricky Williams and set that franchise back for years.

So why was he even on ESPN? Because he's a cartoon character not an NFL expert. On ESPN it's clear that he never even bothered to prepare for his role on the pregame show, he didn't deserve to be there.

None of the defensive dominant teams with an average offense won more than 1 SB. 2002 TB, 2000 BAL, 1985 Bears. Most other great defenses that won multiple SBs had really good offenses as well.

Aikman isn't going anywhere unless he wants too, moose probably either. Irvin's not that great on NFL nw, so who knows. Jimmy doesn't really provide that much insight for what I expect from him. That fox team could use a shakeup..they treat it like its a comedy hour. Bradshaws act has gotten old, and usually butchers the highlights

I agree with you but those guys aren't going anywhere. You're talking about American institutions that generations have grown with who pretty much leave on their own terms (much like John Madden). Same with Aikman, it's very rare that a lead network team get's broken up by the network. I think the only one who might be on the ropes a bit is Phil Simms who many people can't stand but he actually doesn't bother me.

Tirico is being groomed for Al Michael's job and although he's still the best in the business he's 70 already.

You're right Moss is really very good. He's intelligent, measures his words, has good insights and seems pretty humble.

Pretty much all the things he wasn't as a player.

Franchise quarterbacks are key to multuple Super Bowls.

I'm glad this is happening at ESPN. With the exception of Tirico and maybe one other, most are shock talent with get paid a ton. They drive the conversation with outlandish claims, etc. Maybe ESPN is trying more of a younger/informational approach vs debate and argue approach

ESPN’s NFL coverage will look dramatically different next year. Our site already reported that Mike Ditka is out from his Countdown gig (though will remain with the network in an emeritus role), and that Matt Hasselbeck and Charles Woodson are on their way in.

Trent Dilfer has also been widely reported to be leaving Bristol. In addition to this, The Big Lead has learned that Cris Carter and Ray Lewis are also expected to be on their way out, and that Randy Moss is expected to be on his way in. Moss spent last season at Fox Sports, appearing on the pre pre show that pitted him in debates with Colin Cowherd.

More: http://thebiglead.com/2016/05/09/ma...rage-cris-carter-ray-lewis-out-randy-moss-in/

This is all positive turnover. No one on that list adds real value to the screen so... OK bye.

I give Ryan the credit for the one because it was his defense. So what about the Williams trade and posing with him with wearing a dress in sports illustrated?

Who exactly would be grooming him in this scenario?

Edit: My bad, totally missed that Tirico was joining NBC.
