From day one since Dak became the starter he started exhibiting what has always, and will always, make him an elite player at any level.
* He’s a competitor along the lines of Jordan, the Black Mamba and Duncan.
* He’s always trying to get better. Not just from year to year but from game to game.
* He’s one tough son of a ***** trying to straighten his ankle from 45 degrees back to normal so he could get back in the game. Never missed a game until that injury that would have put many QB’s back 2 years.
* He fights on every play and never gives up.
* He cares about his teammates so much that when he was injured their response was nothing like I had ever seen since watching the NFL since the 60’s.
* His size, strength, intelligence are gifts most QB’s don’t have.
* He’s humble never putting himself above the team. The haters will say, “yeah, what about the 40 mill per year” but that’s just bull****. The only time 40 mill would hurt would be the first 2 years. Dak’s salary cap hit the first 2 years is nowhere near that and the remaining years the salary cap is skyrocketing.
* He doesn’t ignore coaching, he embraces it. Just another example of how setting that example rubs off on the other players.
@Ranching I’m sure can attest to that.
I could go on and on. I’ve heard the naysayers repeatedly say “show me his leadership”. Which is an indictment of their ignorance about leadership. Leadership can manifest in so many ways. For Dak, his leadership is a cumulative of the things I posted above and other points I left out. His teammates see all of this. They see that and think, damn so this is how an NFL player is supposed to be. I better do my part. If Dak has gone through all this and is giving 100% every practice, every day, every week, every year then that’s what I have to do. They see how he gives his all for not only the team but to THEM. The Cowboys players are all in on Dak and will run through brick walls for that SOB. THAT’S LEADERSHIP.
so he plays by himself?
So you stating one player is the team is the opposite of the definition of TEAM.
there more then one leader and more then one player and coach on this current roster that have big role in what's going on...
nothing dak does would be possible with the OL, his wrs, 2 running backs, the OC and HC calling the plays and defense keeps handing the ball back to the offense etc etc
the fo the FAs and UDFA they brought in and all the decisions on who stars and who doesn't all of it is not Dak its a team game and the team has us on roll..
odd that we are back to 2016-2018 run game and now back to winning i mean Zekes best season are the playoff appearance seasons , zeke and pollard have their best seasons and its DAKS team?
sure hes leader but this is not hard to figure out ours rediscovery of balance in the run game and an opportunistic defense ala 2016-2018 is why we are on roll..yes dak having his best season but so is Zeke, pollard and others.. steele-TS protecting him with Martin being well martin..
no one man is the team..
so when we are losing or struggling and someone points outs Daks issues you are the first to run and point out OL, defene, coachig and run game struggles in those bad games and losses...
now on nice run its DAK?? no its not..its the culmination of a team all going in the same direction and all playing well together at the same time for once..
the constant need for you to look for affirmation and approval for dak is over the top at times..
most of us have always been dak supporters some more critical but all wanting the best from all our palyers, including Dak but you and Dak this constant need for shining a spot light on him and him alone, well its over the top...
this is Not Daks Team , this is the Dallas Cowboys Team..
he is not pulling this train alone he has an engine in the back pushing for for the first time in few years again 2016-2018 very similar feel its deja vu and for fans this is a great thing..
Dak would tell you himself to not be pointing at him, he large part of very good team....
lastly remember the term coined by the of making the team ROMO Friendly it was protecting romo from himself and the need to carry the team and feeling like he has to do it all by himself, many years that what was going on..that a lot of pressure on one player and thats when the OL and the run game was more of a focus in team building.
2019 KM and Dak were by far lost flus pass heavy oddball paly calls and trying to hard to prove they can win with a powerhouse pass game and the run game became a choppy disjointed part of our offense, like a second thought but not part of a true game plan.
Romo couldn't do it by himself he was close but his best years is with complete balanced offense and So now is Dak and coaches got this going in the right direction. its nice to know your QB can do it if needed but even Aikman was 0-2 with great team missing yup ES and that run game..
Daks playing great kudos but this is team game if you want to to go a SB and not just get pats on the back for gaudy stats.
ask stafford how it feels to finally be on a TEAM..Stafford is Romo 2.0 but Romo didn't get lucky enough to get traded late in his career to better team where his skills were an addition, not the only thing leaned on..
