Making or Keeping Cowboys Fans Happy

How about starting at the top with a solid braintrust of football guys and let them do their jobs. You know sort of like: Murchison, Schramm, Landry & Brandt. That would certainly make and keep me happy. :D
Stephen Jones, Tom Ciskowski, and Todd Williams. Now throw in Garrett.

A pathetic and disappointing 6-10 trainwreck of a season gives people plenty of ammo to complain.
These same complaints were happening after 13-3 and a loss to a team that went on to shock the world.

Im glad the standard is high.

This veteran team has to take the next step and they failed to do that this year.

No post season success no praise.

I disagree.

I think this past season gives people plenty of reason for disappointment and plenty of reason to complain.

I don't blame people for feeling optimistic (I am) but I don't blame folks for being down either.

2010 was as disappointing of a season as many have ever experienced.

Different strokes for different folks.

Dude, Pat "Mask" McQuistan not bringing us a 7th round Draft pick is being rued as evidence of our failure. Billy "I See Dead People" Cundiff is being rued.

Please don't piss on my leg and tell me it is raining.

Im just rueing my team underachieving.

Watching Pittsburgh get to the AFC title game just makes me sick.

Even worse is Chicago is 1 game away from representing the NFC in the Superbowl. Flippin Chicago!

I was in that thread, I'd say that 90% of the posts in it stated that McQuistan was lousy for the Dolphins and had no problem that we got nothing in return for a lousy player.

Billy "I See Dead People" Cundiff is being rued.

The guy did make the Pro Bowl for another team while the Cowboys are still looking for a reliable kicker. Why not question?

Please don't piss on my leg and tell me it is raining.

As soon as you stop telling folks when it's 'OK' or 'not' to voice their opinions, I will.

I think this thread was condescending and unnecessary.

I think I have finally figured this out. All the Cowboys need to do to make and/or keep the fans happy is the following.

1. Win every game by covering the point spreads no matter how big.

2. Hire only the best coaches and have them committed to this team with no desire to become a Head Coach or Coordinator somewhere else and still not a be a puppet to the GM somehow.

3. Draft Pro Bowl caliber players in every round and somehow manage to keep all of them despite future drafts where we acquire more Pro Bowl caliber players, Free Agency, and a salary cap.

4. If we somehow miss on a Pro Bowl draft pick, trade him to someone else for their Pro Bowl player who will play here for less money because when we fart little rainbows fly out of our bum.

5. Win every Super Bowl.

I am quite fond of saying "learn the game." I think I finally have. This is fun.

Nope. Not even close. You only have five. Thre's at least a bajillion things to do. All clustered in a million different groups with tens of thousands of different game day perspectives. Sorry, Hos. This would be like the family dog. Perfect in every way. Brings you your slippers, yet still can't figure out why he keeps pissin' in the house.

If we got rid of all of the condescending and unnecessary threads or posts on this board...it would be a ghost town.

The negative and positive types of posting can be both condescending and unnecessary at times but that is what the board is about...posting opinions and debating.

That's pretty sad about Chicago. Or us, whatever your perspective is. They go to the Super Bowl, lose, suck for a couple of years, and are right back in the mix of going again. While we celebrate one playoff win in the wildcard. WHOOOPEE

I have never told people that. In fact, I'm the guy who defends some of our fans from the mentality of they should root for other teams.

I think this thread was condescending and unnecessary.
Like I said, I finally figured the game out and it is fun.

I just read one comment about the negative types have been right for 16 years and we have "hope." Let me see you bash that as condescending and unnecessary before you preach this crap to me.

Right about what? If you predict the Cowboys will not win a Super Bowl you have a 97% chance of being right every year. They want to wow me with that? No, tell me before the year starts who will win it. That is 16 years of being right and no one has the nads to ever make those predictions. They hide behind a lace panties excuse of "I only care about the Cowboys."

Thank you oh hairy one from the sticks.

I should have read this and left my last post unsaid.

So what was the true point of this thread then? I'd be interested in that insight. I see no point in starting another pissing contest around here. Nothing positive results from threads like these.

I didn't read that post, but if someone had started a thread about it, I'd be just as critical. And for the record, I'm not preaching, I don't know what you're so mad about but I have no interest in getting into a sparring match over nonsense like this. I'd much rather discuss positives like who we'll hopefully be getting as defensive coaches or talking about the upcoming draft.

Meh.

Most fans of any sports team are stupid and impulsive. Because the majority of the general population are. Cowboy fans are no different than any other fans. A small percentage are rational and patient, but most of them are, well, stupid and impulsive.

No sense in complaining about it.

You must be new here or something. Certain fans are incapable of placing the blame where it rightly belongs, so they direct their scorn at the eeeevil media or fellow fans do not rise to their level of [strike]hackery[/strike] purity. Psychiatrists call it "displacement." Hopefully their health plans cover this type of disorder.

It's also worth noting that loyal to a fault, kool aid drinkers are just as annoying as the idiots that complain about everything.
