Sensabaugh had to go to the middle because he had a WR coming right at him. The formation was not right IMO because Sensabaugh had 2 receivers to cover from what I saw.
I thought it was a busted play just by Newman, but Adam made a comment that it was actually Sensabaugh who was late in help... That is why I also added Sensaubaugh in the mix... Without a doubt though, Newman is the primary fault in my book..

As a side note though, I think Wade's third down defense is his biggest flaw, because he releases the gears and goes safe. It is the one thing that irks me about him and it seems to reflect his personality. It is the same defense that allowed Brady to get in field position for the final field goal...

That is who I was blaming when I saw it but I think Newman did really believe he had help over the top. Even so isn't he supposed to stick with his WR. He just was kind of lazy when the WR took off. I don't know if he had responsibility in the flat or not so it is hard to say......

Interceptions are overrated. The Bills lead the league in interceptions but they have the 20th rank scoring defense.

Interceptions mean nothing unless it's a pick six or the offense can do something after getting the ball back.

you know when Wade was signed, i was really really hoping he would be the guy that would get this defense to kill the QB and its really been the opposite. I guess I think its more the pressure of being a HC instead of just a coordinator, but his defense was not as stellar as it was in SD.

But than again to those people that scream defense wins championships and SD is playing better offense than D right now. SO i guess that holds water. In what reality i dont know but somewhere it does.

Speaking of finding time -- when you get some, check out SD's scoring totals for the year. They've scored at least 21 points every single game... Except for yesterday. They have a great offense led my a great young QB and a great OC, and it's not reasonable to expect to completely shut them down when the weather and conditions are picture perfect.

Funny, everyone said going into the game that we'd have to win a shootout, but most thought we could because their D was so average and banged up. They were down to a 3rd or 4th string nosetackle and a rookie safety, among others.

But we couldn't score more than 10 points against them until that garbage time TD that they gave us in exchange for time off the clock.

Not even I can blame Campo for that. ;)

Very true. and yet this morning I read that Jerry is unwilling to blame the offense for not scoring on four attempts on the goal line against a banded up defense but is all to willing to blame the defnese for not stopping one of the top offenses in the league after ware (their best player was taken off the field on a cart). Makes sense to me.

Yeah, they stop the offense from scoring, but we all hate those buggers too.

I don't think there is any way possible hehad responsibility in the flat, considering the 3rd and long situation. Plus it was a deep pass and it looks more to me like Newman gave up far down the field. The guy is a bonehead sometimes... Maybe he thought that he could get another pic like he did against Rivers earlier, i.e. bait Rivers into throwing it...

Because Jerry snubbed Norv for Garrett... And by admitting Garrett is an idiot, he will have to admit Garrett was the biggest mistake...San Diego's offense is good, not their defense...

I don't know if it is the offense' inability to score that is keeping him from unleashing the hounds..

You are actually agreeing with what I've been saying. The most important part of defense is to keep other teams from scoring. If the interception is part of it than great but just because you don't get many ints, it doesn't mean you can't keep the other team from scoring.

Our defense has fewer int than Buffalo but we are a 6th scoring defense and Buffalo is 20th.

Keep reaching.

Wade has such an amazing record in big games not just here, so it can't be that he's just a bad coach right?
That would just make to much sense :laugh2:

Thank god i only have to listen to some of the Wade homers around here for another 3 games

The bills have one of the worst offenses in the NFL so that could be why they're not doing much with their INTs.

Sorry. Jason Garrett is not charged with the responsibility of blocking some scrubass inside linebacker on the goalline.

Nor can he kick field goals.

Coaches should be able to trust their players to get a yard or kick a field goal.

I am still waiting for the players to be held accountable.

+1. Our offense left ten points laying on the field again yesterday, and it wasn't because of Jason Garrett's coordinating.

That's the point I'm trying to make here is that our defense has done their job for the most part this season but our offense has been very inconsistent. We got a INT yesterday at the SD side of the field but we got zero points out it.

When your middle of the pack in red-zone and continuing to fall, it definitely is the OC... It's a trend, not a couple of plays here and there...

The defense is soft. They can play bend but don't break against lesser teams and get away with it because lesser teams make to many mistakes.Mistakes negate scoring oppurtunities.

When playing better teams the bend but don't break approach is not as effective.Better teams make fewer mistakes, fewer mistakes equate to more points scored.

The game yesterday would have been a disaster if not for the offense.Yes,the offense struggled much of the day and didn't put points on the board.Point is,if the offense had not managed to put a few of those long drives together this defense would have been shredded. Those longer drives shortened the game, which reduce scoring oppurtunities.

3rd and long is another problem that plagues this team.I'd rather see a 3rd and short than 3rd and 20.Whatever the cause is I don't know, but it must be a major fault because Mr. Fix It has yet to solve the problem.
