Actually drafted 3 cornerbacks and a safety, signed a FA corner and traded for another.
Let the kids learn and let's see where we are at the trading deadline

Trading deadline will come and go.

We won’t trade for him. We just drafted two guys and signed Carroll even tho he’s not the answer.

Hope he doesn't end up in Philly. When Darby comes back that gives them a legit duo and an elite defense.

Hasn't this guy been pretty average or bad besides the one play he made in the Super Bowl?

Never been that impressed with him. Good not great player, will be paid like a great player.

Honestly...I'm trying to think of one player on our team that you could trade straight up...and feel like your getting equal value. Can't think of one.

Chidobie??

Crawford?

Pretty much, and that was only because Brandon Browner told him where the ball was going as he being a former Hawk recognized the play by the formation.

No thank you. Hes not going to look like a Pro bowler in our defense. Hell if he was a pro bowler right now i doubt Pats would be willing to trade him.

It's like going to Darth Vader and asking him to trade you his used lightsaber....you DON'T deal with Darth Vader, you find a way to kill him

A guy makes a career play in a Super Bowl and all of a sudden, he's elite. Seems to me we had a DB like that decades ago who went to Oakland and failed miserably. No thanks. We've already gotten our help in the draft. Let's not inhibit their progress with another team's trash.

Don't trade with the Patriots, or the Spurs.
Just don't do it...
They'll get ya.
this idea that the Pats are perfect is really annoying. Alfred Haynesworth for example? There are lots of personel moves the Pats have made that ended up wrong; they do make a significantly number of good ones but this concept that they are always right is JUST PLAIN DUMB.

No thanks to Larry brown 2.0.

Develop our rookies and look for help at the next FA period if needed.

So dorky...

I'm like: yeah? you go work with all those hospital studs? Look at these guns! Uhh! (not showing anything...) Uhh!
Don't look at my back hair... Look at these... uhh... You love me!
You crack me up.

The key is to get those teams to tell you who they want along with a draft pick, then don't do the trade and hold on to the guy they wanted because he might be better than you thought :D
Too bad the Pats rarely trade up. It would be a good to use this same strategy in the draft. Talk trade with them just to figure out who they want then draft that guy yourself.

The CB I was trying to think of ^ was Larry Brown, who intercepted Pittsburgh's Neil O'Donald twice in the '95 SB. O'Donald was playing there as their backup. The funny part was that O'Donald threw the ball straight to Brown both times to avoid a rush. Oakland eventually traded for him and overpaid him outrageously. They paid dearly for that foolhardy move when Larry failed miserably to live up to their expensive contract. Al Davis must've been quite devastated over that costly miscue. Good old days, while they lasted. Unfortunately, our last SB for some time, though. :)
Anyhow, that's what the Patriot's attempt to get a 1st rounder for Malcolm Butler reminded me of. I think he's about average at best.

The reason why he is available is the same reason why you don't trade for him: He is in the final year of his contract.
