Malcolm Kelly won't run today at OU Pro Day

Smart move by him.

He can go no where but down by running.

I remember asking about Reggie Smith, because he always looked talented but no one was that high on him. OU people told me he was lazy and maybe not that bright.

Looks like they knew what they were talking about.

BTW, I still like Curtis Lofton a lot. He impressed me more than anyone else on that team.

He'll have to run at some point. There are BIG questions about his speed. I'm even more concerned about his agility and his three cone time.

He's claiming he's still injured but there are big grumblings that he's just not ready.

Reggie has a HUGE ego and not much work ethic. He was a disappointment at OU. He's a guy with all the talent in the world but just couldn't ever put it all together. I wouldn't touch him before our 2nd round pick.

Actually, not running at the Combine or his pro day hurts him drastically. Possibly pushing him out of the first round.

And Reggie Smith didn't even show up. What an idiot...

Wow, Reggie Smith didn't show? I really like Smith, this throws a major red flag. He had better have a extremely good explanation for the no-show.

Kelly is a perfect fit for the NFCE triumvirate(sp?) at 19,21,22.

He'll run somewhere some time and you can bet the bEags, Skabs and Boys take note.

Unless he is just trying to limit his field by only running for teams by accepted invite.

Of course doing that can make your draft position slide, but if there is a specific team you want to play for (and you know they want you), it's a good way to increase the odds of sliding passed other teams.

I highly doubt it will push him out of the first round. He is the best WR in the draft by a long shot.

My big concern with Smith is what my big concern is with all OU defensive backs. Even the passing teams they face in the Big 12 are not the same as facing big time passing teams in the SEC, PAC-10 or whatever and what you see, a lot, is that when OU has to play teams that are really great at passing, like a USC or what have you, their defensive backs get out classed in a bad way.

I'm always very cautious about getting really amped about OU defensive backs. The only one I've ever got real high on was Roy, cause of his physical nature, and that has turned out to be poor in the passing area for us as well.

I see this as helping us out.....slide slide slide into our lap

smith? if lazy and not committed, he can keep on sliding.

So Reggie Smith is supposed to lack work ethic? If actually true, scratch him from my "Wish List".

The word on Reggie is that he is still rehabbing his broken toe from the Big 12 title game and hasn't had time to rehab and train.

OK Fine. That explains why he didn't work out but how do you not even show up?!? Walk around, introduce yourself, meet some people. There are scouts from every team in the league there. What could he possibly be doing today that was more important??

I do agree that him not running in either place could easily make Malcom slide down the list a bit cause people don't know how fast he really is now. That might have been a bad decision by Kelly.

No kidding. Teams also like to interview draft prospects.

I don't think I like this kid very much... He just doesn't appear that smart.

well, i don't want to rush off to judgement over a few random board postings, but actions do speak louder than ramblings. : )

he wasn't there for a very important day. i do question his priorities and will just keep an eye on it.

Apparently he didn't interview with teams at the combine either.

Every OU fan I've talked to said he never lived up to the hype and under-achieved. I've also heard terms like "screw loose" and "not mature enough" used to describe him.

I've changed my mind with this new information. We should trade up with Miami and draft him first overall!!! :laugh2:

Maybe Kelly will drop to us at 22.

Kelly, Hardy @ 22

Cason, Talib @ 28

Rice, Johnson or Charles @ 62

I could live with that:D
