It's where he is currently playing and he is our most disruptive defensive lineman. Their was even a long article posted here during offseason showing Irving played best at 1tech opposed to DE or 3tech.

They have played him at 1 Tech on passing downs but the article stated his most productive and projected position was 3 Tech.

Exactly. When the team goes into obvious passing down situations, the positions are almost irrelevant; the team is putting its best four "pressure" players on the LOS.
