Na, superman is easily one of the most hated on comic book characters. people dislike his boy scout image and the way kryptonite is used to turn superman into a wimp, but this movie avoided both of those downfalls.

so if you know the reviews are sitting at 57%, I'd have to assume you haven't seen the movie to call it over rated.

I'm REALLY hoping he stays clear of Kryptonite all together. As far as a discussion with spoilers, a new thread with a warning would do the trick.

I would love for Superman: Doomsday to be the sequel

I saw the superman movie today. I thought it was great movie. i also agree i hope that they have a villain like doomsday that would be a great challenge for superman. the way they do action movies now they be able do doomsday justice and make him evil and relentless like the comics do and not chessey like smallville tv show was.

How far do they take that? Multiple Supermen? I think a lot of people had the same reaction - Doomsday would be awesome! I just don't think it's something you can do in one movie and tying it to the 2nd and 3rd movie would be putting a lot of eggs in one basket.

Just got home. One word......W O W !!!!!

I am stunned. This movie was the epitome of epic. I have never seen a movie with that much realism. Superman was SUPERMAN. Give it 10/10. 5 stars.

I was in tears when Cal-El was born, the cute little baby laughing and then when Jor-El and Laura knew they had to send him away. So sad. And then Clark's relationship with the Kents, especially Kevin Coster. So emotional.

I don't get why the critics kept saying that this movie had no joy, or that Lois Lane wasn't used right. She was in about the entire movie, and her scenes with Superman were great.

I think people are so scared of change when it comes to culture and what they have seen or what's been done before. This movie retold Krypton in a way that had never been presented before on screen. Giving it more depth. The action scenes on earth are so intense. Every blow, every movement, you feel the power in it. It is shocking. To experience the realism of what Superman's powers truly are. And I sense most people can't handle it. The violence and distruction everywhere. The difference of this Superman vs the Christover Reeve's Superman.

I'm in awe still. A M A Z I N G.

57% at Rotten Tomatoes. OUCH.

It's funny, because depending on your opinion that makes it extremely underrated. But with most fanboy opinions on the net, I'd say the film is ridiculously OVERRATED. Better than TDK or Avengers....lol come on now. I'd venture to say that Rises is even better than Man Of Steel.
The cinescore rating is A- which is obviously very high. The IMDB rating is 8.3 with 50,000 votes. And the opening weekend surpassed expectations. Rarely do you see a movie have such a positive reaction from moviegoers get such a mixed RT score. It's odd. But I loved it and everyone I know that has seen it has raved about it, so it is what it is.

I think you can do him justice in one film. He doesn't have/need much personality and you can make him the "main villain", while still making the movie about Lex Luthor.

In the Justice League cartoon, Doomsday was an imperfect clone of Superman, which I think they did in smallville, not sure exactly about that though. The movie can set up Luthor's hatred for Superman while he uses either Zod's DNA or some of Superman's to create Doomsday.

Obviously Doomsday becomes uncontrollable, goes on a rampage and him and Superman battle, until they both die......end of movie :)

I watched it yesterday and Rotten Tomatoes can suck and egg because that movie was an IMAX masterpiece. Pure visual candy and very entertaining from start to finish. If my nine year old can sit through an entire movie without so much as moving then that movie has no dead spots whatsoever.

Great movie. Jett was right, I've seen it twice and enjoyed the 2nd viewing even more. Imax 2D is the best way to see it.

I could watch the battle of Smallville over and over again. It's unbelievable.

On a related note, I believe Hans Zimmer could have made John Carter a watchable movie.

Strongest aspect of the movie IMO, and a huge part of the hype that was created before the movie came out. Awesome score.

Wasn't Doomsday made from the DNA of General Zod in Smallville? I can't remember. I know it wasn't a Kal-El clone though. I think you're thinking of Bizarro.

I stopped watching smallville before this point. Zod would be easier considering the government probably has Zod's body which means Lex can likely get a hold of what he needs to create a clone.
