I'd haul Dak in and tell him this:

You're our guy, but every team that's poised to compete or that has competed for long stretches has had a QB willing to take a discount. I want you to sign for another 5 years at $40MM per, $120MM guaranteed, and I want it now. You will be guaranteed to have earned over a quartet of a billion dollars as a Cowboy. If we can't get this done, we're moving off you in two years even if it means we start a rookie. We WILL NOT pay you top of the market even if you win the next two SBs. We simply can't pay the skill players we need to put around you if you eat up the cap.

$40MM/yr will be a bargain three years from now. What say you all? I already know what the Dak haters will say, but QBs don't grow on trees.

Why should he take a discount? Lead his team to another 12 win season running the #1 offense football. Dropped 300 yards and 5 TD's in a playoff win last week and lost to the better team and #1 defense this week.

We would have plenty of money if we werent wasting 18 million on a turd like Zeke.

He is too inconsistent. The smart thing to do is move on even if that means benching him till you can get out from under that contract. He just isn't the guy and has had more than enough chances to show it.

We're not winning with another QB. You're not going to beat teams that are going all in versus our penny pinching organization. What did they do with those Amari savings?

Guess what, if we bring in a better QB, that just means the front office can do even less in free agency than they are now to get the team just good enough for fans to keep buying tickets. We're going to keep adjusting downwards so that our ceiling is 2nd round of the playoffs.

Hope springs eternal. Maybe in year 8 he'll get his team over the top?

I've been patient with Dak, but he is what he is. This was a winnable game, and his play was instrumental in losing it.

Not a chance and I'm no Dak hater... but this team is going nowhere with him at the helm, that has been made perfectly clear.
Now if a playoff win every few years is what they want then yeah but anything more than that and you have to try something else.

No.. no extension at all..

I'd be saying that we are recruiting a QB and you are going to ride the pine if you don't agree to a trade. If he wants to collect tickets to sit on the bench as a back up.. fine.

I'd much rather get a new QB.. and if we lose then we can just restock some more talent.

The entire goal of the off season should be to get Dak off the books as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, you’re completely correct. They didn’t do a damn thing with the Amari cap savings, and everyone eventually just forgot about it.

You’re right, the Cowboys can never contend with the teams who legit go all-in.

The Niners were the better team. Simple as that.

Over analyze and blame it all on Dak all you want.

I critique the whole team.

Another QB wins tonight with all else being the same as long as that QB plays better than Dak did.

Many Aren't Going To Like This, But

Many arent going to like this either: Next year will be 8 years in. You are what your record says you are. In this case an average to occasioanlly better than average NFL QB. He doesnt have the talent to overcome this ownership. Very few QBs do. Stop with threads like this. He is as good as he is ever going to be and that is not good enough.

There are still people out there who think that you can win with this bum.

How much more of the crap he does do you need to watch to finally accept ?

Just because its not easy to find a good QB you dont stick with a bad one and sacrifice all the talent you gathered around him.
