Many aren't going to like this, but I'd haul Dak in and tell him this

Hope springs eternal. Maybe in year 8 he'll get his team over the top?

I've been patient with Dak, but he is what he is. This was a winnable game, and his play was instrumental in losing it.
You’re not wrong he was instrumental in the loss he normally is

This team will look different next year but it won’t be at the qb position and the sooner fans realize that the better

We need an upgrade at qb but we need it at other spots too

I have managed to embrace the cowboys without the expectations of championship it really is a more enjoyable football season to be pleasantly surprised versus heartbroken and demoralized

I feel for some of the talent that has been wasted in the past and will be moving forward under the buffoon of a gm

How about we instead so something boring - like draft a QB in the first round. Take a shot instead of trying to get cute and claim that you found the next Tom Brady? I know it's boring and it doesn't make quite the PR story but win and no one will ever care.

I would put Dak on the Gatorade team and play someone else.

neither to Micah Parsons or CeeDee Lambs

And you know what.. Rush is a bad QB.. lets be clear about that.. and EVEN HE could win with this team. We don't need an elite QB.. just an accurate one and one that has a brain and can read a defence..
Naw, the QB that can lead this team to actually winning or competing for SB's isn't on the roster. Law of averages suggests that in order to win with guys like Dak or Rush you need a defense that is going to be the second coming of the Baltimore Ravens or the Steel Curtain or Doomsday. Even then it isn't a guarantee given how much the NFL has changed to favor the offense over the defense.

I'd haul Dak in and tell him this:

You're our guy, but every team that's poised to compete or that has competed for long stretches has had a QB willing to take a discount. I want you to sign for another 5 years at $40MM per, $120MM guaranteed, and I want it now. You will be guaranteed to have earned over a quartet of a billion dollars as a Cowboy. If we can't get this done, we're moving off you in two years even if it means we start a rookie. We WILL NOT pay you top of the market even if you win the next two SBs. We simply can't pay the skill players we need to put around you if you eat up the cap.

$40MM/yr will be a bargain three years from now. What say you all? I already know what the Dak haters will say, but QBs don't grow on trees.
A 7th-round, last-pick in the draft rookie has outplayed Dak since he started,.....so stop defending Dak or wanting him for more years.....Dak is a rash that you go see the doctor for in hopes of getting rid of as soon as possible.

The Niners were the better team. Simple as that.

Over analyze and blame it all on Dak all you want.

I critique the whole team.
So if you 'critique the whole team', you find....

The Defense was outstanding, conceding just 19 pts (7 of which we're due to a gassed unit that had been on the field for nearly 33 mins).

Then an Offense that appears ok when Plan A is in operation, but as soon as we hit any adversity Dak and Moore throw the gameplan away and revert to type (Zeke and Dak panicking and throwing to first receiver he sees).

Let's try this.....if you go into work and your boss says "We gonna have to reduce your salary"........you ok with that?

Why should he take a discount? Lead his team to another 12 win season running the #1 offense football. Dropped 300 yards and 5 TD's in a playoff win last week and lost to the better team and #1 defense this week.

We would have plenty of money if we werent wasting 18 million on a turd like Zeke.
Dak single handedly LOST this game against the 49ers. not only did he spot them 6 points , he failed to capitalize on MANY passing plays with bad accuracy and bad reads when we needed it. He cannot/does not get better and is too inconsistent to keep, we cannot win the SB with him.

QB1 has to go

Do people really trust the Jones with getting the next QB? These are the same clowns who were pushing Quinthy Carter, Drew Henson, Super Chad Hutchinson before getting lucky with Romo. Then they wanted to draft Menzel, Lynch, and few other QBs who are out of the league already before getting lucky again with Dak.

These clowns will waste bunch of draft picks and time before getting lucky again getting our next QB.
still no reason to keep known failure.

also they have been drafting better for some reason.. whether that is McCarthy or whatever, it is true.

Defend this Dak apologists: Dak has gone 49 straight games wherein he has NOT gone back-to-back games without a turnover......good luck winning that way.

“it’s the teams fault “

“defense folded “

“ran into a better team”

“ dak is still a top 10 qb”

these are the replies you will get … so get ready

Continue to pay $40 million for divisional round exits? No, I’m good on that.

I’d rather cut dak tomorrow, go 2-15 the next two years, and get a QB in the draft.
Quitters attitude. Just destroy this team and waste the next 2 years just to appease your hate of Dak, eh?

Why? Other than our miss XP, the rest of the game was on Dak and Zek for not producing.

Mahomes wins that game for the Cowboys and in fact any of these 9 AFC QBs win that game:

Mahomes, Burrows, Allen, Lawrence, Herbert, Jackson, Pickett, Tua, and Watson…I mean Dak will not get you to a conference championship so trade him today.

We're not winning with another QB. You're not going to beat teams that are going all in versus our penny pinching organization. What did they do with those Amari savings?

Guess what, if we bring in a better QB, that just means the front office can do even less in free agency than they are now to get the team just good enough for fans to keep buying tickets. We're going to keep adjusting downwards so that our ceiling is 2nd round of the playoffs.
This is what fans are not grasping. Yes we need better play at QB to beat the very best. But we need more than just better play at QB. The WR corps we rolled out this year was complete TRASH. Our DT rotation is not good enough for a Super Bowl run. Our LB corps is not good enough for a Super Bowl run. And 2 new OL need to be brought in as well. I do not trust Tyron Smith being the answer next year. Now our RB situation is not good enough.

People get enamored with 12 wins. I am not minimizing it. That is really good. But there is another level we need to get to. The Eagles win a Super Bowl with Pederson, Wentz/Foles a couple of years ago...move on from them...and our right back with Hurts and a different head coach. The 49ers go to the Super Bowl with Jimmy G...and are right back with a 7th round rookie.

We are banging our head against the wall hoping to get lucky to breakthough...but are slowy going the other way. The run with this group is over....but I don't think it will matter...because the people in charge of charting the next course having been trying for 28 years to get to the next level...and the constant remains the same.

They are just as clueless as Jerry and this front office.
