Many aren't going to like this, but I'd haul Dak in and tell him this

If you had a race car with a top speed of 160 MPH and you competition is going 175 MPH, would you keep pouring money into your car knowing it will never catch up to the competition? Extending Dak means committing to some number of years of this same result. If we want to get to 175 mph we may need a new car.

Great analogy.....

Unfortunately, you’re completely correct. They didn’t do a damn thing with the Amari cap savings, and everyone eventually just forgot about it.

You’re right, the Cowboys can never contend with the teams who legit go all-in.
I agree with that, Jerry went all in when he first bought the team, then he started bargain hunting and now shops at the thrift stores.

I'd haul Dak in and tell him this:

You're our guy, but every team that's poised to compete or that has competed for long stretches has had a QB willing to take a discount. I want you to sign for another 5 years at $40MM per, $120MM guaranteed, and I want it now. You will be guaranteed to have earned over a quartet of a billion dollars as a Cowboy. If we can't get this done, we're moving off you in two years even if it means we start a rookie. We WILL NOT pay you top of the market even if you win the next two SBs. We simply can't pay the skill players we need to put around you if you eat up the cap.

$40MM/yr will be a bargain three years from now. What say you all? I already know what the Dak haters will say, but QBs don't grow on trees.
I have always supported Dak, until today. Dak got out played by a rookie, that was under more pressure than him, throughout the game. The rookie managed to protect the ball. Not Dak!

If we have no way to get rid of Dak over the next 2 years( ask Dak to waive his no trade contract), we need to go ALL in on defense. Dak needs to be a true bus driver. 15-25 attempts per game with a strong running attack. A old school Bill Parcells Giants type team.

I wouldn't take this fraud back at 5M/yr, easy pass. 2 more years of the same garbage play and shameless excuses from his delusional fanboys is more than enough.

This was heart breaking and the end of the road for any more belief that Dak can win. He didn't have the ability to realize what kind of game he was in, he had to win it to remain a Cowboy.

The best thing is to force him to take a discount at 20 Mil a year with options. But jerry is not that saavy or forward thinking and will stick with his pick until the end., The cowboys should have let him walk after he demanded anything more than 28 mil which jerry offered him originally. Dak will continue to drag down the cowboys well into 2025 unfortunately. What the cowboys needed today is a top tier QB . they don't have one,

I would just draft a QB (high). Hope for a miracle: call Texans and Panthers. Not winning with him.
He would have to waive his no trade clause.....if he wants to keep his money. I seriously doubt anyone would trade for him. Your probably gonna have to bite the bullet and cut him.

Last thing I want to see is him moping on the sideline for an entire season....

Do people really trust the Jones with getting the next QB? These are the same clowns who were pushing Quinthy Carter, Drew Henson, Super Chad Hutchinson before getting lucky with Romo. Then they wanted to draft Menzel, Lynch, and few other QBs who are out of the league already before getting lucky again with Dak.

These clowns will waste bunch of draft picks and time before getting lucky again getting our next QB.

Hope springs eternal. Maybe in year 8 he'll get his team over the top?

I've been patient with Dak, but he is what he is. This was a winnable game, and his play was instrumental in losing it.
I gotta agree with this, a $40 million dollar QB wins this game.

The defense held the 49ers to 19 points..................they have been averaging 35 a game.

This should have been a W if Dak just doesnt totally suck.

Not a chance and I'm no Dak hater... but this team is going nowhere with him at the helm, that has been made perfectly clear.
Now if a playoff win every few years is what they want then yeah but anything more than that and you have to try something else.
Correct,
He is way too inconsistent to ever make it far in the playoffs.

No.. no extension at all..

I'd be saying that we are recruiting a QB and you are going to ride the pine if you don't agree to a trade. If he wants to collect tickets to sit on the bench as a back up.. fine.

I'd much rather get a new QB.. and if we lose then we can just restock some more talent.

The entire goal of the off season should be to get Dak off the books as quickly as possible.
And get KMoore offf the payroll too, or send good references to the Panthers this morning. We need a sucker to believe in KMoore's offensive prowess.

The NFLPA will not allow a player to adjust his existing contract to benefit his team. Not short term or long term.

DRAFT A ACCURATE QB. Doesn't need a cannon, just accuracy.
Dak can sit or take less money in a trade. By the time the rook is ready for a vet contract you can cut bait with Dak.
I don't want the interception machine on the field again. Believe me the players have had enough too.

Interesting everyone was concerned about the Kicker having the Yips. Person who had the Yips was the same guy who had it last year playing San Fran and that is Dak. Against really good teams he either plays too fast or too slow. For the most part our line played really good yesterday. Difference was Dak didn't play well.
