Manziel caught partying on Christmas Eve

Nice backhanded insult. Because I drank when I was 21 (like 90+% of other people in the world), it means you matured faster than I did? Riiighhtt.
Nice job totally misrepresenting what I said to make your point look less lame.

I didn't say anything about drinking at age 21. I said BINGE drinking. If you think 90% of the world is still BINGE drinking at age 21, then not only did I mature faster than you, I obviously matured faster than the crowd you spent your time with too.

BTW, Manziel is not a 21 year old college student, he is a 23 year old professional. Huge difference which, for some reason, you want to completely ignore.

Again, you didn't explain how that other situation "got covered up". 2nd time you ignored that...let's see if you decide to answer it on the 3rd try..

Do you know exactly how much alcohol he consumed during his bye week "binge" or his Christmas party "binge"? Because a binge is defined as an excessive amount of alcohol. My guess is you dont and you are assuming.

And looks like you misrepresented what I said as well, I never said 90% of the world is binge drinking at 21 , I said 90+% of the world drank when they were 21. But to hit on that point, the vast majority of 21 year olds binge drink. You can bank on that. You must not live in a college town.

I'm not disputing the fact that he needs to mature. He obviously needs to become a better professional but the fact that he decides to party on a bye week and for a christmas party is getting blown up like killed someone is ludicrous. All Manziel needs to do is grow up. Plain and simple.

It is not my responsibility to educate the ignorant. Opinions are fine, but your total ignorance of facts is your own responsibility.

Your sad sack defense is that the videos of Manziel blitzed out of his mind is: "gee, we don't know how much he was drinking...."

Pathetic.

Well no crap, Sherlock. Drinking isn't the problem. So who gives a crap how many 21 year olds drink?
But to hit on that point, the vast majority of 21 year olds binge drink. You can bank on that. You must not live in a college town.
Newsflash: A lot of 21 year olds are not in college. A lot of them have careers. When I was 21, I was in the military.

So, like I said, I guess I just matured a heckuva lot faster than you and the crowds you ran in.

What's ludicrous is your implication that that is all he has done. "Hey, he had a little fun on Christmas Eve, what's the problem??"

His alcoholism has been a chronic problem since the day he got drafted. By all accounts, he has promised to get better, and failed. By all accounts, he lied to his coaches and employers about his drinking. That is textbook alcoholism and I am soooooooooooooooooooooo glad he is someone else's problem.

Anyone that signs him is stupid. I know the personnel people in Dallas (and yes, I mean Jerruh) are wise enough not to do that.

Me either. I don't want him anywhere near Dallas. Your QB has to be reliable and he's far from it. He's not long for Cleavland.......or the NFL for that matter at the rate he's going.

I have yet to see where Johnny has shown up drunk at a game or high. His activities don't come close to comparing to the players on the 1990's Cowboys. His actions off the field is typical of a young , hard partying , rich kid. Maybe the Cowboys need some of this bad boy attitude. It brought three Super Bowls in the past. What he does in his off time is his business. It is time for fans to realize that.

You need to look at the internet and you'll get reports of a player being AWOL the Saturday before a game with team security officials having to go to his house because he never showed up to leave for an away game and they found him drunk. He missed scheduled treatments and team meetings. When he got his chance to start, he didn't know the plays, didn't call them correctly in the huddle and his teammates had to correct him. He was so unprepared he had a QBR of 1 and 4 in two starts....think about that. Because of his lack of readiness, some players didn't want to play for him and one of his teammates called him a 100% complete joke. He lacks the commitment to practice and prepare himself at the most important position o n the team.

And you pointing to the 1990's Cowboys is ironic because once Jimmy left the building and guys stopped practicing or coming to meetings, the team fell apart. Manziel doesn't hold water to Irvin......he would have partied him under the table. But Michael was the hardest working guy on the team and that's where Manziel falls short. That's the issue here. It's not about a young guy drinking alcohol or going to a game drunk. It's about not preparing for the game during the week or committing yourself in the off-season to doing the things that you need to do to be successful at your profession.

If you or anyone on here is gainfully employed and you don't show up for work, you're going to get fired. Johnny is still in Cleavland because he was picked in the first round, the team made a financial investment in him and he sells jerseys. If he was a late round pick or UFA, he would have been long gone. I don't dislike Manziel. On the contrary, I turn the Cleavland game on if he's behind center. I think the kid is a talent but he's also go an alcohol problem and he's irresponsible. We were all young and liked to have our share of parties and drinks. But I never had to go to rehab and I didn't show up to work drunk. At some point he needs to get help, grow up and become committed to his teammates and his craft.

Really? That's the standard you are setting? Really..?!?

There are widespread reports of him missing mandatory meetings and practices, and him lying to his coaches. Combine that with an abysmal lack of pro-caliber talent and it is nothing but a recipe for disaster (as Cleveland is discovering).

Well, I guess that technically this statement still remains true. After all, he didn't show up to the Cleveland game today drunk or high... :lmao::lmao2:

Nope......He was in Vegas. Way to support your team Johnny...

Did you happen to see where he didn't show up at all yesterday?

Bad boy sure but at QB would rather have a person who is intelligent. He was in rehab and back to drinking and showing he can't be counted on. Cleveland gave him chances to clean it up he can't seem to do that. I think any team willing to give up that quick on a QB says a lot.

Man, I hope they keep this clown far away from Dallas. He has no business in this league. He isn't even that talented, I will be one happy camper when he finally washes his dumb butt out of the league and we never have to hear his name again. What a loser this kid is.

What are you on about? There are countless players in this league around his age that resist alcohol. He can't stay away from it AFTER going to rehab. Are you kidding me? This is blatant signs of alcoholism. And every single kid in college? Stop your exaggerating.

You're using Irvin as an example? Irvin eventually acknowledged he had an issue and eventually fixed it. Manziel has acknowledged he has an issue, and you're still defending him. "Just another college student" - get real, you're in denial. The kid has a drinking problem.

Are you intentionally being dense? He's the starting QB? He keeps losing his starting job BECAUSE of his drinking problem. Were you part of the Manziel cult while he was in college or something?

Just a side note: Michael Irvin was drug tested over 1500 times during his playing career. He never failed once.
