NEW YORK (AP)

The Final Four will be shown in 3-D in movie theaters around the country.

CBS announced Tuesday that the men's basketball national semifinals April 3 and the championship game two days later will be broadcast in 3-D in up to 100 theaters. TV networks have been experimenting with airing sports events in 3-D in theaters, and ESPN is planning to launch an entire 3-D channel.

The special 3-D Final Four broadcast will be called by CBS College Sports Network announcers Dave Ryan and Steve Lappas.

You have a point re a championship but the fans are as annoying Eagle fans. Maybe you are more like Saint/Patriot fans

Now correct me if I am wrong but didn't the Heels win two NCAA championships since Duke's last one? I vaguely remember 2005 and 2009 whereas Duke last won in 2001.

15 years since Duke missed the tourney... Or since 1983 if you disregard the year when Coach K was out. If you want a model of consistency, it's Duke and Coach K. He doesn't have years like Roy "Humanitarian" Williams has had this year.

perhaps but Roy has never found a way to dump his losses on a hapless assistant either

Still 2 championships in 5 seasons >>> not missing since 1995

Good luck making the NIT.
OUCH

Seeing that the Heels really suck this year, I guess I should look at what schools have about the same number of titles and hope they don't win:D

UNC has 5 titles
Kentucky has 7...and they cheat, so a big NO to them
Kansas and Duke have 3; another big no to them too.
Indiana (5) and UCLA (11) are not real threats.

So of the top contenders, I guess Purdue (0), WVU (0), NM (0), K State (0)Ohio St (1), Syracuse (1) are acceptable

The ultimate model of consistency was Dean Smith. But yeah, Coach K is right up there too. Roy slightly damaged his legacy this year...Dean went 30 years without having a team this bad.

Here's some trivia; the two schools with the most titles in the last 30 years are
UNC (4)
Duke (3)

then 4-5 teams tied at 2 each

competition for recruits was not the same back then though and if I remember, Smith was hanged in effigy his first couple of years in the early 1960s.

Irony of course is that many are crapping on the Heels and they are 16-15. Many programs would take that in a second after winning their second championship in five years.

Maybe though some prefer not making elite 8 since 2004 but making the tournament over winning a championship.

LOL... there you go again with the ridiculous "dumping" conspiracy theory.

Still 3 championships > 2.

That's what Coach K is currently doing. He'll pass up Dean in the next few years on all time wins.

And CCF will shed tears in his cheerios.

Yeah cause that's what I said.

Your team has to beat Georgia Tech to be guaranteed of a winning record, not including a possible NIT bid. Coach K hasn't had a losing record since 1983. In that same time, he's only had 3 seasons where he even had double digit losses, much less a .500 record.

did he or did he not have his losses transferred to Gaudet, someone petitioned the NCAA to have that happen and Lord knows, Krezewski didn't oppose it

5 championships >>> 3

You really believe the 1995 losses should not be on him? No way Dean Smith, Calhoun or anyone else would have had that year wiped out.

You must be a frat boy though to love Krezewski that much although I suspect even you must find Chris Collins and Wojo annoying.

How can you possibly pin wins or losses on a coach who isn't COACHING??? It's a no-brainer. He didn't get credit for the Gaudet wins either. If Duke had gone on to win the NCAA title that year, you wouldn't want that counted as a title for Coach K.

I find it very amusing that anyone would sit here and find fault with Dean Smith, Roy Williams or Coach K.

Ridiculous.

Put your "sports ego" aside because all three are legends, and will be HOF.

First, I don't have anything bad to say about Dean Smith. Second, I never said any of those would not make the HOF... they all definitely will.

But Roy Williams is a royal imbecile.

why is he an imbecile?

he certainly seems nicer than the leader of me who happens to coach basketball.

Not sure why Duke was bumped ahead of Syracuse, even Seth Davis a Dookie thought that was a bad decision.

I can see Duke going as far as the Elite 8 but then the superior athleticism of Villanova should take them out. Duke has too many white guys to win it all.

I think Kansas is the team to beat.

Winning your conference tournament > Losing in the first round of your conference tournament

I also never understood why they had to add a "65th" team... really?

Is 64 not enough?

My Coogs made it for the first time in 18 years. They'll prolly get bounced in the 1st round, but the fact they made it all...with this years squad is an accomplishment.

I got Syracuse over Duke in the championship.

And, this time of year in the football offseason, I love March Madness! And NASCAR.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Coogs play Friday vs Maryland. I know the odds are long for the coogs but getting hot at the right time does not hurt.
