March Madness

As a 'Cuse fan - I root for all Big East teams and then of course SU to beat anyone in their way.
I know a lot of people that think that way...I never have. I just can't get myself to root for rival teams.

I want every team in the Big East to lose every game it plays, just like I want the Giants, Commanders, and Eagles to be awful every year.

Having said that, I'm almost tempted to root for Pooeyville because an all Big East championship in the last year of the conference would be absolutely incredible. It almost feels like its destined to happen, to be honest.

I think you mean Louisville, the team that embarrassed you guys in the big east championship. What was it, like a 40-6 run? What makes you think the result will be any different in the ncaa championship? I'd worry about Burke and co first.

The refs gave Louisville that game. The foul disparity was a joke considering Syracuse plays a 2-3 zone and Louisville plays full court defense and yet it was SU somehow in foul trouble.

It's why SU has played so well in the NCAA tournament so far, they've avoided Big East referees who are an embarrassment to the game of basketball.

Even though this isn't Syracuse playing, here's just a sample of the awful Big East referees.

My favorite in the BE Championship game was Luke Hancock traveling to White Plains and it not getting called...then turning the ball over and James Southerland picks it up cleanly and they call a jump ball in Louisville's favor.

I grew up on the Big East and I hate to see it go away, but the refs have been so lousy for so long that they make the game unwatchable as it looks more like a prison rugby scrum out there.

Yes, Cuse needs to worry about Michigan, I'm not overlooking them.

But don't act like Louisville is way superior to Cuse. The Orange split with them in the regular season and then dominated for about 25 minutes in the BE championship. I think the only reason Louisville won that game was because Cuse ran out of gas...almost impossible to win 4 games in 4 days in that league. Siva does nothing against the zone, never has, and the Cards don't have a great inside scoring threat if Djeng isn't hitting 12 footers. Now that Cuse, as a team, is rebounding hard and competing at the defensive end, there isn't a team in the country that they can't beat.

It really comes down to MCW and Triche. If both play well and assuming that CJ Fair is his usual self, the odds are in SU's favor. The only game they lost this year because their defense was not up to snuff was against Marquette where the refs let Gardiner tackle and kill people under the basket. Other than that, their losses were related to poor offense. Even the Temple loss where Temple made 28-32 Free Throws could have been avoided if the SU offense wasn't abysmal.

You never really know what Brandon Triche will show up. If he doesn't play well then Southerland really needs to step it up.

Wichita State played a great game. Fun to watch.

SU and Michigan on tap.

Louisville over Wichita St, heck of a game. Louisville down by 12 and a walk on comes in and hits two 3 pointers in a row to get it down to 6, completely changed the game.

Bad charging call against Syracuse and the last rebound for Michigan sure looked like a travel before he threw it back in. Oh well, I wanted Louisville/Michigan.

Felt bad for them.

They led all the way unti the last minute or so. I think they had about a 12 point lead with only a few minutes left.
Kudos to them and good heart by Louisville to catch them.

Glad I'm not the only one watching. Michigan is taking it to the Ville, but the Ville ain't bowing down.

Great game. Both teams are being physical! Would not be surprised if someone gets hurt.

Ticky tack fouls called, muggings not called, obvious kicked balls not called. This is the most inconsistent half of reffing I can remember in a long time.

And back comes Louisville! Wow.....this game is living up to the hype.

Who else rewound to see that dunk again? *raises hand*

*hangs head in shame*
