That's Spencer's career sack line when he's been healthy. People around here assume he's the 11 sack guy and boy just wait until he comes back. If he can be healthy, look out. But more evidence points to a 5 or 6 sacks guy which makes him a very marginal pressure player on a defense and a terrible first option pressure player.
Then you add in the injury.
Honestly, I don't even care that he's back. That's how little I expect.
I completely understand your argument and your stance. However, this DL was constructed knowing they didn't have a double digit sack guy and wanted to come in waves. That would be similar to the Seahawks approach with less talent. That said, if he is even the 5 or 6 sack guy that will help this anemic pass rush. If Mincey and Lawrence can give you 5 or 6 as well or even 5 or 6 combined, that equals double digits from the WDE. I'll take it. Selvie and Crawford combining for 8 or more would be helpful as well. If that starts to work, maybe Melton (if he gets healthy) can actually start to make plays in the middle since the edges would be pseudo productive.
Not the New York Sack Exchange but it would help.
