A crippled walrus would get more pressure than this group. So, it can't really be any worse with Lawrence returning.
Crippled Walrus..lol good one and sadly, an insult to the Walrus. lol. This poor defense will be the weak link for the club. Th FO needs to stiffen it up through the draft in the off season.

The club really needs one bloodthirsty...QB hating passrusher...a Haley...someone to lead the defense...add that and watch out.

man i don't know, as much as I agree with you that it would help it really feels like this d-line needs substantially more talent. I just don't think one monster of a player would be enough, our d-line is so bad

if we could get just 1 mediocre DE, 1 mediocre DT, and that one monster, we'd probably start making more noise in the opponent's backfield

I'll tell ya what, with the way that this secondary makes adjustments, if they even get a hint of a pass rush, they could be very respectable. Not dominant, mind you, but respectable.

And the team is 3-1 without anyone that can really rush the passer or command a double team. We have been starting several guys like Jack Crawford and Mayowa that have been below average starters but are guys that will be above average backups.

Not only will DLaw give you someone opponents have to scheme for, but you will suddenly have quality depth. DLaw coming back is going to be a big story after the next couple of games.

I will admit at times it looks awful. However, similar to 2014 this D makes plays at the best times. The flush out by English Crawford made Gabbert hurry the throw. The Wilcox cover of Kerly?? Who the hell in there right mind would think he could cover him!?!?! But again, in the 4th straight game made a huge play!

Agreed. One killer is not enough. Its the start. The club needs to concentrate on the defense for two drafts and they need to hit on some players. DE is a must. LB's ... DT's and corners. The defense has been too long neglected. Give Prescott and Elliott the defense they need to win.

Just close your eyes and imagine if Jaylon Smith recovers. He will instantly be a superstar
Its a nice hought. But, in reality its a long shot. He was an outstanding College player when he had two legs.
