Two statements that all of us already knew but still make you feel good when you hear them. All Hail to King Bill!

yup, like i said in the gameday thread. you can complain about some aspects of Parcells coaching. But you cannot deny his eye for talent at the RB position. Yes, Marion had great blocking but you could see his talent for running the ball and hitting the hole hard. Hard to belive how bad we were at this point in the year last season in the running game and now we have talent and depth.

But still think its funny Bradshaw has proclaimed Barber our new starter. JJ is still the man but its so nice to know when he is out we have very capable backups.

If I'm the Cowboys I pick a RB in the 4th or 5th every year and let BP roll that over into a 2nd once the guys hits the field. It could work. GB did it for years with Wolf and Holmgren picking QBs.

Kinda like we were going to do with Reshard Lee :laugh2:

Anyone remember how Seattle and Indy couldn't get a pack of smokes for Alexander and James?

If he doesn't get back soon (I'm talking about "Right after the Bye" soon) and Barber keeps putting up big numbers, I'm not sure you can say that.

The big issue there is giving older RBs long-term deals - people don't like to do it. When you compound that with the request for 1st rounders people shy away.

All our guys are still young and cheap.

IF he is not back after a bye than I agree 100%. But if he comes back healthy I still have to believe he is our starter at RB, regardless of his slow start this year. I just am so happy we look stacked at the RB position when at this time last year it was a huge weakness.

Barber and Canty in the 4th = great draft.

 Parcells

I guess what bugs me most about people who are already angry with Parcells and thinks he's "senile" is that the's the best personnel guy the Cowboys have had since Jimmy Johnson. You could bring in another coach, but not many have the rep and ballz to tell Jerry Jones to stick it. The thing I fear the most when Parcells is gone is that Parcells will no longer run the drafts and signings. We're doomed if Jerry takes over the roster managment again.

I think Jerry's learned his lesson, Jeff Ireland will be running our drafts when Parcells is gone

Agreed.

I know it was a couple of years ago but, even now, I still have nightmares about the "Hambrick-Anderson-Cason" 3-headed monster.

I bet a part of Parcells is happy that he, not Mo Carthon, is the one who picked Barber.

No, the people who are angry with Parcells think he plays 1980's conservative football at critical times and it isn't working.

Give Jeff Ireland a lot of credit on personnel. Parcells did.

Yeah, the same guy who goes for it on 4th and 2 on his own 35. Who decides after Bledsoe had a crummy day last week, he should still pass it with 30 seconds left instead of playing for OT. Not sure where the conservative tag comes from from just running the clock out in the 4th. Jimmy did the same thing in his days and no one said he was too conservative. Parcells ain't any more conservative than your typical NFL coach. But..... playcalling aside, you could bring in one of the nation's top college coaches and Jones wouldn't show him the respect he would Parcells in roster management. Once we lose Parcells, we are in danger of losing the team, because let's face it, the main reason the Cowboys were so bad in the late 90's, early 00's was because of some of the worst drafting in the NFL.

:laugh2: It wasn't that long ago that people were talking of Barber as a possible bust.

I love the swings of emotion on these message boards.
