Strengths: Is a smart, instinctive receiver. Finds open spots in zone coverage. Freezes cornerbacks in man-to-man coverage to turn them around and separate a bit. Runs sharply to separate on short-to-intermediate routes. Shows excellent hands and good body control; makes tough catches, even with defenders over the back. Does not hesitate to make catches in traffic or peek at defenders. Holds on to balls and maintains balance when hit hard. Has good size. Makes would-be tacklers miss and gains good yardage after contact.
Weaknesses: Runs a little upright in routes, limiting explosiveness out of cuts. Lacks the elite speed to stretch the field and gain deep separation. Does not run aggressively with the ball; is not a tackle-breaker.
Bottom line: Bradford missed all but one game in 2006 because of a foot injury and redshirted the season, opting to return in '07. He is a sneaky prospect who grows on you the more you evaluate him. He is a well-built, surprisingly fluid receiver who consistently gets open and makes outstanding catches seem routine. Bradford won't ever be an explosive, big-play guy, but he has nearly all the traits to become a quality No. 2 receiver. He is ideally suited to play for an NFL team that puts a premium on size, route running and hands.
