Naturally, you have to be able to do a lot more than run fast in order to be a successful CB.

But you also can't be a sloth.

Think of that receiver we had a few years ago. Jermain Copeland I think. The kid caught everythiing. Hell, in a preseason game, he caught I think two balls that weren't even thrown to him. He had the best hands I think I ever saw.

Didn't make the team though, and he wasn't picked up by anyone else. Last I heard, he was in the CFL.

You have to have some speed. But more importantly, you have to have burst and the ability to seperate.

Otherwise, any CB will smother you and the QB will never throw in your direction.

I think when putting together a WR core you are looking for guys with different set of skills. 9ers had a playmaker in Rice but they also had the outside speed with John Taylor who did have 4.3 speed. Dallas had Irvin and a deep threat in Harper. I think when you look at most good tandems at WR you find they have a different set of skills

True..............and if Gleen was to come back I see dallas having that for at least this yr.

But while you have those guys on the roster, you have to start now fazing the futre in at both positions...your possession wr and you speed wr. So it is only sart to start now. All good WR do not come out of the top odf the draft as we all know.

I just wish this draft was deeper at WR. It could come down to Dallas getting a vet next year like a Roy Williams who will be a FA and drafting one. As mention before I would also not give up hope on Austin and Hurd after all they have only been in the league for 2 years and even the top WR in the NFL have struggled early on in their careers as they adapt to the pro game

Oh I realize that, but this kid has decent speed, he just isn't a burner...

The ability to get separation is the most important thing for a WR along with good hands and solid route running. Whether he has that on a consistent basis, I don't know... we'll see...

Without knowing he was our UDFA, I thought you were pumping him up for our 1st round pick next year when I watched the video. LOL

Looks pretty good!
I love his body controll and the way he attacks adn wants the ball when it's in the air, great natural pass catcher with some great athletic ability, glad we got him, we'll see how he pans out, definately gonna keep an eye on him.

I was thinking more like practice squad fodder.

I won't doubt that, but I will say this much, if he's anything like he was in college he's going to make this team. He's one of the more consistent Wide Receivers in the draft....

Consistent??

Code:
[B]OPP		REC 	YDS 	AVG 	TD[/B]
UCLA		3	21	7	0
San Jose State	4	41	10.3	0
Oregon		6	72	12	1
Arizona State	3	31	10.3	0
@USC		5	87	17.4	1
TCU		2	17	8.5	0
@Arizona	1	2	2	0
@Oregon State	1	16	16	0
Washington	2	19	9.5	0
@Washington St.	12	141	11.8	0
Notre Dame	7	111	15.9	0
California	5	84	16.8	1

Other than being a consisent non-factor in Game 6-9, he wasn't very consistent at all.

I like how in your sig you see everyone in on the tackle and working hard to get Jacobs(?) to the ground.....except Roy. Who looks like he's checking out some chick in the stands. Very symbolic of our defense.
