Drew Boylhart from The Huddle Report was very high on Bradford. Here is his review of him:

STRENGTHS
Mark has very good size and speed to be a stand-out WR at the NFL level. He runs great routes and has excellent hands. He is a very smart player and understands situational football. Mark will go over the middle and give his body up to make a catch. He is not flashy and will not look like the best WR on the field during a game, but when the game ends, he will wind up being the best WR that was on the field. He is a very underrated player in this draft. Mark is a good blocker and does all the little things that a WR needs to do to become a great WR in the NFL. He reminds me of Hines Ward (WR Pittsburgh Steelers). I call him Mark (The Dream) Bradford because I think he will float his way to stardom in the NFL.

NEEDS TO IMPROVE
Mark needs to work on his quickness and build himself up as do most WR’s coming out of college. I believe he had a foot injury and still is not completely healed from that injury. Mark is the type of player that plays faster than he times and I know he will work hard to improve in all phases of his game.

TALENT BOARD ROUND 2
Mark is going to be a big-time player for the team that drafts him in the NFL. He has the talent and athletic ability to have a long career. Now I know that Mark will not likely be picked very early in this draft. First of all, he played for Stanford and second, he doesn’t have the blazing speed that the coaches, GM’s and scouts look for when they are looking for players to pick in the first round. Give Mark a year with good QB and WR coaches and you are going to see a player as good as Greg Jennings (WR Green Bay Packers) who I profiled as a good bet to be a #1 WR in the NFL (see Huddle Report Archives). I see players like Mark being overlooked every year because of WR’s who are faster. But speed does not make you a great player and it never will. Mark understands how to play his position and he understands the little things that make a great player. I know that Mark will never stop working to make himself a better player, which is the first ingredient you need to be successful at the next level. Look for Mark to be listed or drafted somewhere in the third or even fourth rounds, but I’m telling you no matter what round he is taken in, he has the talent to be a “go to”, #1 WR and a Pro Bowl player. Remember: Mark (The Dream) Bradford -- the name says it all.

Thehuddlereport analysis on him is very complimentary. I remember reading it a month or so ago and was hoping we'd consider him and/or Monk later on in the draft.

It takes more than youtube scouting to prove to me that Bradford is a beast. While the profiles are complimentary, there is likely a good reason he wasn't drafted.

I stopped reading after the "I call him Mark The Dream" BS.

Give me an *****' break.

Yeah, The Huddle Report knows more than any team out there. I mean, if anyone with credentials other than HTML skills and server fee's thought even half of what Drew "Robert Meachum is the best receiver in this class, Offensive Rookie of the Year!" Boylehardt thought of him, he would have been taken.

The fact that no one even took a flier on him with a late 7th lets you know this scouting report is just a fluff piece.

Guys, give it up with the YouTube scouting.

He sure likes to jump when he catches the ball, whether it seems necessary or not.

There are posts like this on every single NFL fan forum. Everyone is salivating over some uncovered gem which only their team was able to unearth.

Good luck to this Bradford guy ... hope he pans out. But to make TO comparisons sounds like typical conversations on ES.

NFL scouts aren't always right. That's way the success rate of QBs & WRs drafted in the NFL is so poor -- particularly in comparison with other positions. We Cowboy fans should remember how off the scouts can be -- do I need name a certain undrafted QB whose already been to 2 pro bowls in only 1 1/2 years as a starter.

If Glenn retires, or is cut, we will have an open roster spot (hopefully filled with a nice veteran). If we are unable to do this, I can see this guy, who is more polished than the other UDFA finding a spot on this roster. IF they really like him, Sam Hurd might want to have a REALLY good training camp.

This infatuation with speed is ridiculous. Alexander Wright ran a 4.19 but never did anything for us in the early 90's. A good football player is a good football player regardless of speed...

If many of you had your way, Michael Irvin or Jerry Rice would never have gotten a shot in this league.

I'm not comparing this kid to either of those, but basing your evaluation on speed alone is foolish...

If you don't got speed you have to make it with intelligence, route running, hands and using your body to prevent the CB from making plays on the ball - this means lots of football IQ and work ethic.

This is a low cost situation so it doesn't hurt to give the kid a shot. He has definitely got some skills.

Exactly... and like someone pointed out, most of those highlights were against USC, so he does show up in big games...

He is a longshot to make this team, but I'll wait until I see a little of what he has before I write him off...

I agree speed is not the be all, however if you are looking to replace Glenn then I do think having a WR with very good speed who can stretch the defense is important. Looking at most combos at WR you have a key playmaker and a speed WR to help clear as well as coming up with the deep balls from time to time.

Austin's got the speed - just don't know if he can develop the ballskills necessary to be a good deep threat.

I agree. This is his 3rd season coming up so I'm still holding out hope that he can take the next step in his development.

I agree. If I remember correctly the All Time Rusher ws not a blazer either...Can't remember his name.............Emmitt something.....hmmmmmmmmmm

Speed is not everything........To me heart, the willingness to horn in on your talent.......studying your craft and giving 110% will be the deciding factor.

Naturally, you have to be able to do a lot more than run fast in order to be a successful WR.

But you also can't be a sloth.

Think of that receiver we had a few years ago. Jermain Copeland I think. The kid caught everythiing. Hell, in a preseason game, he caught I think two balls that weren't even thrown to him. He had the best hands I think I ever saw.

Didn't make the team though, and he wasn't picked up by anyone else. Last I heard, he was in the CFL.

You have to have some speed. But more importantly, you have to have burst and the ability to seperate.

Otherwise, any CB will smother you and the QB will never throw in your direction.
