What is interesting in all of this, if Denver releases Sanchez, they will essentially be in the same situation we would be by not signing Sanchez. They have 2 QBs with neither of them playing in a NFL game. 1 in a rookie and the other is a 2nd year player. The other difference we will be starting the rookie and they will be starting the 2nd year player.

You mean Linehan not Norv. Ponder didn't take a single snap last season and played very little in 2014 where he had no TD's, 2 INT's and a passer rating of 45.8. If you give Sanchez a running game you have a chance with him. A couple of years ago with Philly on Thanksgiving he had a good game against us with the help of McCoy running the ball all over us. If you put him in a position where he has to throw a lot he'll turn it over.

No, I meant Norv. Linehan runs the system that Garrett implemented and Romo has mastered, the Air Coryell system as taught by Norv Turner.

All the guys rumored to potentially be available - Geno Smith, Zach Mettenberger, etc. basically do the same thing.

LOL i dont understand these guys pretending that League Average QB's will somehow be cut in a QB starved league. Theres not even enough decent backup QB's to go around but someone is going to magically release a quality backup QB thats head and shoulders better than Showers? insanity.

People don't just throw away their assets. I agree. You're not gonna get quality back up qbs from cuts.

Sanchez would be a good backup. Not as good as McCown IMO but better than most backups. Plus, he's been in Philly. New regime there now, I know, but he might be able to give a few tips.

IDK about bringing in another veteran backup like we did last year.

I think once we made the decision Dak was our guy that's pretty much it. Plus we have Showers as backup now .

I think it would be different if we didn't expect Romo to return.

Im not saying I wouldn't keep my open if someone is released . Romo will still be able to serve as a mentor on the bench and in practices .

Sanchez is not the answer. Just another retreat. It seems the club will go with the young players and that may turn out to be the best option. They will develop and thats what the club really needs and if they fail and the season goes south, and it could, the team has a chance of drafting a franchise QB.
