Martellus...

None of us can say if Bennett is milking an injury, but for what's it's worth, here is my impression of Mr. Bennett to this point in his career:

In my opinion, there are two (2) types of players in this league: 1) those who want to see what they can do for this game and; 2) those who want to see what this game can do for them.

As an outsider, it appears to me Mr. Bennett, right now, is behind door #2.

Talent means nothing without desire and right now Mr. Bennett does not seem to have it.

Ha! Can't take a little joking, bro?

Bad thing is, I typically like a lot of your posts, but you went off the reservation on that Sean Lee thread.

I'm looking forward to when you're off your period.

Martellus Bennett isn't worried about missing preseason games. "I had a hell of a preseason last year. That [beep] didn't mean nothing."
There u go another example of his stupidity and laziness. he is just saying that cause he hasnt been able to play. This guy needs to get his butt in line. phillips would have taken his spot.

.

Why would he be "milking an injury"???

Doesnt seem the front office thinks that either:

Bennett is unlikely to play Thursday against the Oakland Raiders. Team executive vice president Stephen Jones said the Cowboys want to be cautious with Bennett's ankle, making sure Bennett doesn't have a setback before the Sept. 12 season opener.

Yes, by all means, he should ignore the advice of coaches and trainers, rub some dirt on it, come back sooner than necessary, and play so that he can get hurt for the regular season.

Good plan.

Yeah maybe he should mentally toughen up and do some cage fighting, suck up and absorb some power kicks and sweeps on that bad ankle.

Dude still didnt practice today. He needs to wrap it up and start practicing. This dudes has poor mans Antonio Gates written all over him but never uses his ability even when healthy.

Your outlook really should depend on who's decision it was for him to not practice or play in the game. Can you be sure it was his call and not the teams?

We know the team has been very cautious with these little nicks and bruises to insure they do not develop into bigger problems. How many times have you herd coaches say kept out for precautionary reasons?

I do understand why immature brats never get the benifit of the doubt but I thought I would just throw that out there.

Its time too perform or sit down and shut up. He is babying his ankle now,we need this guy to perform to his ability which is very very high. He seems so lazy.

So you put up a thread to slam him? Man this is a 1st around here.

Preseason isn't priority for Martellus Bennett

By Tim MacMahon

Bennett didn’t play in the Hall of Fame Game because the Cowboys wanted him to rest the ankle that sidelined him for the first week of camp. He sat out Tuesday’s practice and doesn’t seem concerned with whether he’ll play Thursday night against the Oakland Raiders.

“What really counts is the season,” Bennett said. “[Beep], I had a hell of a preseason last year. That [beep] didn’t mean nothing. I had 300 yards or whatever in three games, but that doesn’t mean nothing.

“But what really counts is the season, not the preseason or whatever. I just want to get to the season and do my job.”

“Y’all should have something,” Bennett said. “I’m not out here for no reason. The season didn’t go the way I wanted it to last year, but this here is a whole other season.

“I worked three times as hard as I ever worked in the offseason – on the field, off the field, film room, whatever it is. I’m just grinding right now.”

I just hope the light goes on inside his head cause he has the skills big time to be dominant.
