Marty B says start a petition for WR Marshall

no thanx
Marshall is TO junior, we dont need that crap all over again
we have enough at receiver if romo and RW develop some trust in the off season and pre-season

some of you just do not get it.....the Colts are getting it done right now with Reggie Wayne and a bunch of nobodies. Why? Because the QB, OL and offensive coordinator are good at what they do. Our OL and offensive coordinator need to get BETTER. Our QB is good enough, but we need to protect better and call a better game

This.

Although I do think their WR's are better than many give them credit for.

I love that they're willing to trust young unproven WR's to get the job done for Peyton....and they're responding. Hmmmm.....you don't need to be Jack Handy to get where I"m going with this.

Adding Marshall would be detrimental to this team....and I say that knowing full well his ability.

Too bad the Wide Receiver position is not a problem area.

I believe a lineup of Miles Austin, Patrick Crayton, Kevin Ogletree and Roy Williams is sufficient to win an NFL Championship.

Roy Williams is going to be here along with his $13 Million price tag, so if any focus is going to be paid to the Wide Receiver position, you better start finding ways to integrate him more into the Offense.

Also, everyone who is pondering the acquisition of Brandon Marshall needs to ask themselves 1 Question.

Do we beat Minnesota if Brandon Marshall is on our team?

The answer is no.

The love affair with wide receivers here is mind boggling. Championships are won on the offensive and defensive lines, good quarterback play and solid defense. Wide receivers are near the bottom of the list, especially since this team already has a solid wide out core.

Let's stop grasping for the big names and quietly rebuild this aging offensive line. They cost us the game against Minnesota (along with coaching).

I can think of a self-promoting underachieving tight end I would trade for Marshall.

On Bennett's twitter account, he said he was having lunch with B. Marshall.

Then, I sent him a tweet saying "@Jupiters_Crunch tell Jerry to trade for B. Marshall about 1 hour ago from web in reply to Jupiters_Crunch"

He then responding about an hour later saying this:

Jupiters_Crunch
"He said start a petition for him.... Lol 9 minutes ago from Echofon"

So there you have it, lets start a petition for all those in favor of trading for Brandon Marshall. Can we include the stipulations of the trade?

Example: Trade a 2nd and 4th round pick for BM, or trade Roy and a 3rd round pick for BM, and so on

Marty B needs to focus on his own game and improvement. And he may be the one who gets traded to being Marshall in. IF it were to ever happen, which I doubt.

Billboards are much more effective. If I was a NFL player, I would love to come to Dallas. Big $$$ with little production required.

Wrong WR Marty. Start the petition for Eddie Royal instead. Stretch the field guy who is also a dynamic returner. Tweet-tweet.

Why in God's name would you want that blockheaded PITA??

Have you gotten tired of having a stable locker room??

We just got rid of TO, now you want to go out and pick up Baby TO??

Brilliant...

I'm just concerned about the #2 WR position for us next season. What are we going to do when 31 other teams have a full offseason to gameplan for Austin now? He isn't going to surprise anyone next year. We need a solid #2 WR and Roy Williams wouldn't even be a solid #4 right now.

Teams already gameplan for him.

But a full offseason to look at tape of Austin. Teams only had a week to gameplan for him. Now they have an entire offseason. Austin will not match his production next year IMO.

Given that we ranked 6th in passing offense and 2nd in total offense, I think we can go to war with our incumbent receiving corps... I'd also suggest that by about game 10 or so, teams were gameplanning for Miles, and he still produced...

So I think you're worrying about nothing... apparently, Jerry does too, as he's already said that the Boys won't be looking to make a major move to upgrade their receiver corps...

Lastly, I'd suggest to you that you not give up on Roy just yet... he may yet find his comfort zone in Dallas, and if he does, he'll be a more than adequate number two... until then, I'm happy with Roy, Crayton and Ogletree behind Austin... that's a nice receiving corps, as far as I'm concerned... throw in Witten as yet another dangerous option, and Felix swinging out of the backfield, and you have a nicely diversified passing attack...

An attack that will get even more dangerous if you upgrade the pass blocking...

If Roy has around 50 receptions for 750 yards or so and 6-8 TD's (kind of like what Crayton did in 2007), I think we'll be fine at WR like you said. A lot depends on Roy and the development of Ogletree. I do think Hurd is gone for sure though.
