If Roy has around 50 receptions for 750 yards or so and 6-8 TD's (kind of like what Crayton did in 2007), I think we'll be fine at WR like you said. A lot depends on Roy and the development of Ogletree. I do think Hurd is gone for sure though.

That's a pretty fair analysis, right there... the thing is, I still think that Roy could give us 60 catch potential (particularly if the injury bug bit the WR corps)... even with Miles and Witten accounting for 80 catches of so each...

I admit I'm a UT fan, and a huge mark for Roy, but I believe the time will come when we're all glad he's on our team...

Man I hope you're right. I too think he has the potential to play much better. And I think he will. But if he doesn't produce next season, I can see him getting cut.

He has the potential to be really good, I just hope he can turn it around and show us that potential.

The love affair with wide receivers here is mind boggling. Championships are won on the offensive and defensive lines, good quarterback play and solid defense. Wide receivers are near the bottom of the list, especially since this team already has a solid wide out core.

Let's stop grasping for the big names and quietly rebuild this aging offensive line. They cost us the game against Minnesota (along with coaching).

Agreed!

No, Crayton had more yards, and he was the 3rd WR.

Crayton > Roy.

How about a permanent banning for anyone who wants to start a petition for trading more picks for a wr?

Can we trade Roy Williams for him straight up?

Crayton > Roy.

OK, little boy, time to further your education a little...

Roy Williams, 85 career games played... Patrick Crayton, 82 career games played...

Williams, 319 career receptions... Crayton, 196 career receptions... big advantage, Roy...

Williams, 4678 career yards receiving... Crayton, 2888 career yards receiving... big advantage, Roy...

Williams, 37 career TD receptions... Crayton, 23 career TD receptions... big advantage, Roy...

Clearly, when you look at their CAREERS (and again, note that Roy has only played 3 more games than Crayton has), Roy is the clearly superior receiver... now, let's look at just last year... you're right that Crayton had more receiving yards, by all of 26 yards... but Roy had one more reception, and 2 more TD catches...

So, looking at ALL the numbers, your challenge is now to back up your comical "Crayton > Roy" assertion...

It's my hope that you'll at least learn the dangers of running off at the mouth without knowing what you're talking about... you now have the FACTS, let's see you spin them to try to support your argument...

You have a lot of opinions, it would be nice if you first bothered to check to make sure they're supported by fact before sharing them with us... unless, of course, you like coming off as clueless...

I can only answer for myself, ice... for me, messin' with guys like Romo 2 Austin is not only entertaining, it's therapeutic...

In his case, I'm making allowance for his tender age, and trying not to get too medeival on him... maybe in time I'll get through to him, make him realize that acting like a know-it-all is not the key to being respected (let alone liked) on message boards...

Those who get respect on boards like these not only know their stuff, they're able to state their cases in a respectful manner... they don't just jump in people's faces with little to no provocation...

Yeah, I get confrontational from time to time, but I try real hard to only act like that toward the posters who are acting like jerks their own selves... but if you give me somebody who posts respectfully, I try to argue with them the same way (when I disagree with them, of course)...

But I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be upset if all the jerks posting to this forum suddenly disappeared overnight... God help me, I do love abusing them... :D

Offensive weapons has really never been the problem with this team; it's always been "Does Romo have enough time to get the ball to his weapons?" We need to upgrade the depth at WR though. Sam Hurd is a solid ST player but is he really worth the #4 WR spot? He wins the "Training Camp Title" every year but then disappears once the season starts. Ogletree will have a solid offseason, Crayton will be a dependent slot WR and Austin well...will be Austin. This is Roy's put up or shut up year. Jerry HAS to give him the benefit of the doubt because so much was given up for him. Hopefully Roy steps up to the challenge. Another offseason with Romo couldn't hurt him either.
