Why in God's name can't people enjoy a huge win without making stupid threads like this?

Ok let me start off with Marty B's stats last year, 20 catches for 283 yards and 4 TD's. this year Bennet has 15 catches for 159 yrds. With Bennet being 6'6'' and 265+ pounds with wr type speed, he is going to require more attention than Phillips who hasnt made any type of impact this year. which again brings me too my point he was probably the last guy that the saints prepared for. another thing to think about, how many of phillip's catches tonight were outstanding grabs?? NONE! they were 5-7 yard throws, in other words, check downs! there was no way that he was romo's primary target coming out of the huddle! Phillips didnt do anything that bennet couldnt have done. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK MANE, or if you would like english professor man.

Thats more than Marty B has done all year......Go Homer another thread....big guy....Bennett is following D. Russell footsteps....getting passed up by 3rd stringers......

Really ? You think that a guy who's played as much as he has so far is struggling mentally ?

Oh, wait, you probably think that blocking doesn't take much mental effort, huh ? That anybody could just line up on the LOS and just hit the guy in front of you and that's it. No reading defenses, no using different techniques for different plays, no adjusting to different defensive alignments, different calls at the LOS, none of that..

Just get on a 3 point stance and hit somebody.. Doesn't take much mental work...

Yes, he seems to struggle mentally. He consistently shows poor body language on the field and just flat out seems to be bored. He may be doing a fine job in the blocking part of the game, but there is a reason Romo doesn't look for him much in the passing game. He doesn't trust him. I don't trust him either. I could be wrong.

Bennett even in college was always somewhat suspect at catching the ball. He's really athletic, a good blocker and can get open. He's still young so he'll only get better. I think it hurts him some that we have the best TE in the game because he can't play that much.

Bennett may have a lot of physical talent, but he will always struggle with the mental aspect of the game, something it looks like Phillips understands.

Hes been out of alignment a couple of times this season, hes also made a bunch of excellent blocks and some great grabs along the way. Bennett probably had to learn more than anyone else on the offense during training camp.

Hes more or less being asked to do everything out there that Witten does, but while Witten has had 3 years under Garrett, Bennet has had only 2 and he wasn't asked to do all that much last year.

Certainly right now, Bennett's stock value is low and it looks like we should have taken the trade. Heck, maybe he never proves worthy of a first round pick. But we've seen plenty of players who we (fans) were ready to give up on by Year 3 or 4 only to break out thereafter. Romo and Austin come to mind.

Oh, and Bennett is only in Year 2. So I have no problem waiting.

Let's get somebody who's body speaks the right language instead..

Dude was supposed to be "creating mismatches," "working the seam" and a "red zone freak" this year. It hasn't happened. I'll eat the crow though if he gets better. :

Your firs two receivers need to have 1,900yards and 40 TDs each. Your starting TE must have 1,400 yards and 20 TD, your 2nd string block TE needs to come in with a cool 800 yards and 12 TD, and that's without counting your three 1,200 yards RBs, each with 15 TDs rushing and 7 TD receiving.

and if TR is short of 115 TDs with 7,500 yards, well, then, let's get rid of him because his body language sucks.

No doubt. It's as if a player who isn't a Pro Bowler out of the gate is worthless. If anything, our coaching staff has shown the ability to develop players as they remain in the system. Players develop at different paces. Let's give this one some time.

Because your premise is wrong. The Jerrathor is alot of thing, but stupid is not one of them. If this was 3 years ago and the Bengals would have been offering a #1 pick for Fasano, the move would have been made in a nano second.

That the move itself wasn't made should tell you something.

Oh, and by the way, I WOULD have made the move, even knowing fully well how important Marty B has been to the offense, how much potential he has, and how I wouldn't lose ANY sleep if Witten goes down for any extended period of time.

Not only because of the extra #1 pick, who would have come very handy in this draft, which I consider is one of the best drafts to have multiple #1 picks in, in a few years, BUT because I want to see a change in the offense.

I want us to start moving back to the I and pro formations with a true, blocking FB, like we used to have with Emmitt. IMO, it's been the most successful line up that we have this year. I think the FB is already on the roster and I also think that Tachard Choice could EASILY be a 1,200 to 1,500 yards back with that formation. I truly believe we're wasting his talents and it's a shame. The 2 TE set would still be used as we've always have in our entire history, but Philips is capable enough of handling the job.
