They sure leak it though. I expect that the PR folks got this out through back channels - all about spin control.

Agreed.

No doubt the Organization feels pressured to curb negative behavior, whether real or perceived.

This is definatley something the Organization wanted the Media to know.

The language wasn't the problem. Tried to get you to understand that yesterday. Think like a company owner.

Im pretty sure Anthony Spencer was arrested in 2009.
I'm pretty sure he will be dealt with so I'm not waiting for the sky to fall.

According to some, Jerry Jones is "letting" the NFL handle things.

Which is contrary to how he acted when Adam Jones had the altercation with his bodyguard which resulted in an NFL Suspesion.

How is that 'contrary'?

He let the NFL hand down the suspension for Pacman and he's letting the NFL handle Spencer's situation as well.

On Spencer, I expect it is different issue b/c arrests are something the league does deal with - and if the league hits him with a 1 game ban then there isn't much the team should do over and above that.

No he didn't.

The day after the altercation, Jerry Jones claimed that him and his Crack Investigative team felt Adam Jones hadn't violated any rules and further stated that it wasn't a big deal and he wouldn't be punished.

The NFL felt otherwise.

Adam Jones' actions hurt the Organization just as much as Martellus Bennett's and even Martellus Bennett in his latest installment insinuate this.

Jones didn't do it on youtube wearing an official Dallas Cowboys helmet for all the world to see.

Could you imagine Tony Dorsett or Harvey Martin ever doing this?

How far we have fallen.....

I thought Hos made it very clear that it was because of the rap music. ;)

And again, the point that blows your agenda all to #@!! is that had Jerry Jones suspended Adam Jones, he would not have received the draft pick he's getting from Tennessee this season.

That's the reason for why he didn't discipline Jones himself.

But keep ignoring that fact.

And last I checked, Adam Jones isn't currently a member of this roster while Bennett still is.

Never said the guy shouldn't be punished.

The only problem I have is when people make the claim that Jerry Jones is protecting the "image" of the Cowboys.

When Adam Jones arrived on the scene, this argument should have been never been used.

To me, it was both, but the helmet was the icing on the cake.

I think this has a lot to do with the fact that he did it with a Cowboys helmet on. Desecration of the uniform and what not.

I have no agenda. I am just stating an opinion.

Contrary to popular belief, just like me, you are stating "opinions" and not facts.

Not once did I state that Adam Jones should have been suspended. What I stated is that "if" the league hadn't stepped in, Adam Jones wouldn't have received a punishment, Jerry Jones himself stated that.

And yet MB gets a $20,000 fine?

It seems to me that Jerry is trying to correct a prior mistake.

Not the first time I've seen it, and probably won't be the last.

'Marty B's' mistake was screwing up at the worst possible time.

But hopefully it's a lesson he learns from and moves on.

I'll chalk it up to an innocent mistake made by a 21 year old kid still learning about life in the NFL.

Personally, I hate Rap music. But if he did a Country, Rock and Roll, or Opera song with the helmet and the same language, then I'd be saying the same thing. Fine away....

That's a speculation we'll never know the answer to.

But I'm stating that there were other factors invvolved in the decision - namely draft picks.

This is something we can agree on.

My only beef is when people say he is trying to "protect" the image of the Cowboys, which doesn't make sense given the individuals he has acquired.

I think the fact is that had Jerry & co. imposed discipline, then they wouldn't have gotten draft picks back from Tennessee.

Seems smart to me to play the "nothing to see here, move along" aspect and let the NFL handle it.

He's not a kid. Immature, but not a kid.
