11:46 am According to footballoutsiders.com, the Vikings were the 10th-worst team at defending tight ends in the regular season. In other words, Dallas TE Jason Witten, who had 94 receptions, will be a matchup nightmare. In Witten's lone game against the Vikings in 2007 (same coaching staff), he had 10 catches for 86 yards.

A heavy dose of Witten, hopefully Marty B, and Phillips. Vikings secondary maybe ripe for the picking.

Hopefully Witten has a big game. I just hope he plays focused and doesn't false start like he has been lately.

Sounds like they have struggled Vs TEs all year - the Cowboys are not the team you want to be facing if that is the case. Not just because Witten is awesome and MartyB and Phillips can hurt you too but because the formations we put out must give a D coordinator fits. How do you deal with 1WR, 3TE and 1RB - run package, right?

What about the screen play? 4 wide? 5 wide empty backfield? All of these can be done with our personnel - cant see the Vikes wanting to put a heavy run stopping package in and risk getting burned deep but what happens when we line up tight and run OT - not planning on too many between the tackle runs, just enough to keep the big guysin the middle honest.

Cant wait for Sunday!

The TE is not going to beat Minny.

Witten is going to complement our O and add an extra dimension the Vikes will have to defend against.

They will have problems with our O. If we can clamp down on their O, we'll come out ahead.

Stats like that make no sense. 10th worst team defending TE's? Obviously they'll have a tough time with Witten, everyone does!

No doubt.

Without Henderson, they're toast over the middle trying to stop Witten.

Seriously?

10th vs TE's?

So in other words, they are in the top 30% of the league vs. TE's.

How does that translate into an advantage for us?

Not a huge surprise. They have horrible safeties, they play a 2 deep zone leaving the middle of the field open and Leber and Brinkley are pretty dang slow for 4-3 linebackers.

Felix' speed to the perimeter should also expose these problems.

Witten needs to work on eliminating the penalties since the game will be on the road. I'm sure he'll be a big part of the game plan.
