Matt Cassel was worse than advertised

Cassel is getting more comfortable its obvious he is seeing how things work now. Much better performance, the pick hurt bad but we made uo for it, I think it is too little to late because the defense is garbage. Very difficukt season to go through. Nothing good coming of it except our draft slot and Byron Jones play.

I don't know if we ever really did make up for it... We were driving and already in FG range, it was at least a 10 point swing on that one play... Cassel played good enough overall, but that pick 6 killed us...

I can't believe ppl are even fixing their minds to cast any blame on Cassell. Dude had a pick six. Ok. But, without many of his clutch throws tonight, we aren't even going to OT.

This blame, once again, rests squarely on the shoulders of our gutless defense and the coahing staff. This team is ill prepared to play 60 minutes of football. The gameplan is basic. No ability to flex on the fly. Nothing. If things start to go south, they retreat into 'play not to lose" mode. Just pathetic.

The pick is on Linehan because that is the worst play in all of professional sports, the risk isn't worth it since it's most likely going to be a 3yd gain.

He is what he is, a perennial journeyman backup. Cassel has shown improvement week to week, no doubt about it. However, asking him to win consistently for an extended duration is just asking for too much. Four games max or your season is pretty much over...

He had almost a 300 yard 3 TD game with QBR of 101+. Pick six sucked but if your QB played that well, you should win.

It just goes to show you... Romo often times had to be mistake free just to win. It's crazy.

That throw to the to the right really sucks for cassel.

I think it also had something to do with Cassel being careless with the ball... Just like he was careless when he heaved that jump ball into the endzone when we were already in FG range, but luckily for him Dez bailed him out on that one... I'm not saying it's the worst thing in the world to take some chances down field, especially if you're throwing towards Dez, but we'd be all over Romo for throwing that ball, even if the results were the same... I seriously doubt that making that throw was Cassel's only option on the play, he should have thrown elsewhere, or thrown it away, but you cant throw that pick 6 there... Cassel played good enough overall, but that 10+ point swing killed us, and he deserves to take some criticism for throwing that pick...

BINGO! High risk with little reward. I have no idea why any team would throw that, but they do.

With Weeden, we lost by at least 10 in regulation.

Weeden had no running game and no Dez Bryant. Cassel can't even win a game WITH Dez Bryant. Without Dez Bryant, Cassel throws three picks in his last two games just as he did against the Giants. Even I could've thrown that Hail Mary pass that Dez caught yesterday. That pass was pure luck on Cassel's part and phenomenal skills on Dez's.

I disagree. Cassel got lucky with the 80-yd kickoff return and Bryant's incredible catch. Without either of those the Eagles win in regulation.

The Dez play was not luck, Dez can make those plays all day, since hes
