Just heard on Sirius NFL radios moving the chains, that a source out of Buffalo said they may cut Cassell.....if this is anywhere near true, we should calling them right now and offer a 6-7 for him.

Only problem is, even if he's slightly better than Weeden physically, you still have the issue of Cassell does not know the playbook and has no familiarity with the recievers or o-line. If we add a QB, it needs to be someone who will be the #3 all season, but has enough upside they are worth losing a player.

There'll be plenty of interest.
I heard Buffalo only wants to carry two QBs and although Cassell may be better , they aren't ready to dump Manuel.. Taylor won the starting gig.
They also have a QB they want for the PS.

I would be interested where Cassels would lend towards if he got cut. Josh McDaniels was his offensive coordinator when he was with the Patriots. McDaniels is there now. With the relative uncertainty of (short-term) quarterback depth in New England, I wonder if Cassels would consider signing back up with Belichick and Co.?

Cassell would be worse than Weeden.

Weeden at least knows the offense and could do well to not screw things up too badly in a pinch, a la Washington. Cassell is just terrible. He was handed the starting job in Buffalo and ended up behind Tyrod Taylor and EJ Manuel on the depth chart lol

Cassel is a better option than Weeden but he would have to learn the offense doubt he would be very successful if he was forced into action not having spent training camp with the Cowboys.

He will be on waivers right? So he does not get to pick unless no one claims him.

Cassel costs $4.75 million this year. Still want him in a trade?
