Ok what's it look like -- I think this should be a very interesting matchup. The Seahawks are packing Shaun Alexander(RB), Matt Hasselbeck (QB), Joe Jurevicius (WR) Walter Jones (LT) and some other under-rated play-makers.

What's going on in dodge (Dallas) city gentlemen? Outcomes, projections, expectations?

PT, I think most of us here are looking for specific things in this upcoming game. I'll list the things I want to see in my priority order.

1. Bledsoe did not look good in the AZ game due to a number of reasons, some of which were his fault and a number he had little control over. I want to see Bledsoe make some connections with our receivers, both downfield and on shorter routes. I think the Bledsoe-Glenn connection will be OK so I am least interested in that. I am much more interested in Bledsoe to Johnson and Bledsoe to Witten. I want Drew to not hold the ball too long even if it means throwing the ball away.

2. I want to see a lot of Petitti at RT and I want him to be improved over last week. I want him to pass protect well and I want to see some successful runs to the right side.

3. Our defensive line is still a bit banged up but our depth looks good there. Perhaps a greater worry is our outside LB's and transition from run to pass. Our run D looked good last week. I want to see better drops by the LB's and some pass rush pressure even though we will be plain vanilla again this week. Seeing Davis make a few plays in the secondary would be heartening.

4. We have a number of guys we are still looking at for roles and on special teams and I want to see more of those guys. Beriault, Thompson, and Crowder come to mind.

5. I know others might disagree but at a somewhat lower priority on the list is the backup QB battle. Romo vs Henson has been talked ad nauseum. I would like both to play excellent football and make Parcell's life pure hell in trying to make a decision.

There are certainly other worthy items for Monday night, but that's my priority list. There was discussion today on ESPN concerning the length of pre-season (they thought it was too long), but with all of the transitions the Cowboys are making this season, I wish we had a week or two longer.

Thanks lspain1 -- I was just trying to look at the game from a Cowboys perspective, but I didn't know what to look for.

1. Bledsoe did not look good in the AZ game ...I want Drew to not hold the ball too long even if it means throwing the ball away.

I hear you saying Qb speed in releasing the ball. But that would also mean receivers getting in the open down field, running routes correctly, etc., and the OL giving sufficient protection. Is their enough depth in that RT position?

2. I want to see a lot of Petitti at RT and I want him to be improved over last week. I want him to pass protect well and I want to see some successful runs to the right side.

That's exactly what I was saying in the response above. Good points.

How long do you thing BP will keep the "A" team in?

4. We have a number of guys we are still looking at for roles and on special teams and I want to see more of those guys. Beriault, Thompson, and Crowder come to mind.

We do too. It's always interesting to see the rookies step up their game. Because while It's just a pre-season to most of the veterans, it's real-time for the rookies.

5. I know others might disagree but at a somewhat lower priority on the list is the backup QB battle. Romo vs Henson has been talked ad nauseum. I would like both to play excellent football and make Parcell's life pure hell in trying to make a decision.

I hear you. To me, the most important aspect of the QB corp is keeping them all healthy!

I don't know, but...

...wouldn't a better 'matchup' be, for example, Hasselbeck versus Newman or Bledsoe versus Trufant? Kinda hard to have two quarterbacks on the field at the same time.

No! You can't pit an entire defensive unit against a qb without taking the OL into consideration. It's not as simple as the offense against the defense. And neither is it confusing to see one QB style matched against an opposing team's QB. You're the one who is acting confused DE.

It was Just a harmless question and not intended to be an insult that deserved Factiousness. If it's that hard to get a sensible response ....then I say goodbye to you DE.

PT,
I think the three 'Hawk players you mentioned above each pose a different type of problem that will identify how far the 'Boys may have progressed this offseason... Walter Jones is definately one of the best LTs out there.. Which gives Hasselback time to pick defenses apart.

I hope that BP releases the hounds just a bit on Defense... Just show enough blitz to let the 'Hawks know we can do it.. I'm anxious to see Ware blitz from LB.. Jones will be a real test for our young rookie.. Also if we can get some pressure from other spots on the defense, it will go along way in building their confidence..Their OL is no joke though... Jurevicius is not fast, he just gets open. Darrell Jackson is really the threat in their offense.

Seattle also has two very good corners in Andre Dyson and Trufant.. Their safeties are decent as well in bouleware(still learning the position) and Ken Hamlin

This is the makings of a real good game/ Perhaps BP will open up with the big guns and stay with them for a while. Uncertain what kind of depth Hasselbeck and the 'Hawks have at Qb, but it sounds like we'll find out tomorrow.

Good hunting.

Go get some!

Seneca Wallace appears to be their backup QB..Reports on Wallace are that he has had an excellent training camp and pre-season.. After that its a rookie David Greene from UGA, who I am curious to see how he looks in the pro game. Then some guy I dont know about.. Gibran Hamdan.. originally a 7th rnd pick of the 'skins in '03..

Depending on the coverage Hasselbeck may/may not get from his OL, you guys may be able to take them. Watch out for Shaun Alexander though.
