Ultimately, that might end up being a great decision. (Not Tyson Thompson, but the rest.) What was the end-game for Moore? To just back Tony up for the next six years? Guys like Oglesby and Ball at least have a chance of contributing on ST and are depth at a position we really need it. But there was no real reason to hide Moore. Maybe eventually we could have wrangled a 4th round pick for him or something - but I hardly think we should be rueing the fact that a guy who was set to be a back up for Tony went to a team and was the 4th option behind Delhomme, Vinny, and Carr, and finally got to play a little.

Exactly, you have to focus on those that are likely to contribute, plus since he likely is only on a one year contract if Jerry really wants him outbidding Carolina should not be a problem.:D

Kurt Warner was also not drafted Brad Johnson was like a 9th round pick which is the same thing as a UDFA since we only have 7 rounds
Sure, there have been exceptions like these two, but hundreds more who never panned out. I'm just saying that Richard Bartel could have as much chance of developing as Moore.

Before we start praising Jaws as the all knowing QB guru, this is the same guy that has repeatedly sung the praises of Rex Grossman to the point this year in a preseason game against the Colts, Jaworski claimed that he could tell that Grossman was a completely improved Quarterback after seeing one throw. Later in that *half* (of a preseason game mind you) Grossman had 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions.

We don't know what the future holds for Matt Moore. We do know that it took Romo 3 1/2 years of sitting on the bench before he was ready despite some parts of the Parcells coaching staff wanting to start him from day one, and Romo has repeatedly stated that he would be *out* of the league had he started earlier in his career.

I hope the best for Moore (provided that he doesn't tear up the Cowboys), but thinking he's going to be even a serviceable starting QB in this league is getting way, way ahead of ourselves. And I believe even Matt Moore would probably agree with that statement himself.
