Maurice Jones-Drew no likey Byron Jones

That is just code for he hasn't watched him. I am no big fan, but I cannot call him the worst pick of the round.

I think that award goes to Damarious Randall. Usually Ted Thompson is spot on when he takes a DB, but I think he missed this one big time.

While hindsight will prove me wrong, I don't think there were any *** picks this year, like Juwaun James (Mia 2014), EJ Manuel (Buf 2013) or James Carpenter (Sea 2011).

To be honest, Travis Frederick was universally panned as the worst pick of round 1 in 2013, so I'll take more of that.

Obviously they’re going to do that in the second and third round. But this was a stretch. This guy, the highlight they show is him playing special teams, there’s nothing at corner or safety, so that tells me that this guy is not the best pick at 27.

Does anyone know what the special teams bit refers to? I've watched just about everything on Jones but seem to have missed this.

I don't love the pick but it's flat out idiotic to say he's the worst of the RD1 picks.

" I served with Travis Frederick..I know Travis Frederick...Travis Frederick is a friend of mine...Byron Jones..you sir are no Travis Frederick."

:)

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest MJD will be like Marshall Faulk and never have a good thing to say about the Cowboys. The media gets another Cowboy hater.

I agree with MJD's assessment: "When you look at his highlights he’s getting beat, he can’t judge the ball, there are so many different things. Yeah, he’s an athlete, but what is that going to do? At the end of the day, this is football. If you can’t play football, you’ll never be able to play football. I’ve played with some of the greatest athletes, but if they can’t judge the ball in the air, if they can’t understand rout concepts, which I don’t know if he can or cannot."

Didn't you suggest playing Wilcox at CB?

I'm going to just ignore your opinions on defensive backs.

Best way to make a name for yourself is to bash the Cowboys...

And I'm betting a lot of the picks MJD did like last night are going to bust, big time.

I can't stand instant draft analysis. Can we let these guys, I don't know, maybe get a pro practice in first before we decide which ones are getting a bronze bust in Canton??

Go away, MJD.

But to jump up and take a guy that you probably could have got in the second or third round, just because he jumper far. What does that mean?

You can't over draft a player just because he jumper far. That is true.

I don't know of a single draft resource that had Byron Jones as a 3rd round possibility.

He's entitled to that opinion. I like the pick myself and I don't think what he's saying is that unreasonable. Not sure what he means about there being no tape on him. And he was considered by most to be a 1st round.......

In regards to him being the worst draft pick... He may have something with that statement being the guy was the 27th pick in the draft. He was projected to go around there.

Much respect for the response. It sure beats the usual character assassination when the message is not wanted.

Except QBs had a 26.3 rating when throwing against him.

The fact that this guy has a hyphen in his name makes me take him more seriously.

Jones wasn't getting out of the first round IMO.

Dallas was very happy to get their pick in.

I agree that he probably wasn't getting out of the 1st round. Worse case scenario, he's an early pick tonight. MJD pulled that draft projection out of his buttocks. Even if I hate a player I have to acknowledge his value around the league as much as the fans are privy to it. Take Arik Armstead. Couldn't like the player. The most overrated in this draft class, IMO, but I knew that if a team wanted to get him they'd have to do it in round 1. I wouldn't say, "hey...why didn't you wait until the 3rd round for him?" His stock wasn't in the 3rd round. Neither was Jones'.

So just that part of his rant makes the rest meaningless to me. The only thing I can know whether he's right or wrong on is that part of it and he's completely wrong on that.

If your a nobody media guy then hate on the Cowboys. Works every time.

I think it was more of "I didn't like they guy" than a true assessment of his value. But he is entitled to his opinion on Jones' abilities.

James has played well for Miami.

Commanders pick was truly awful.
