Maurice Jones-Drew no likey Byron Jones

I agree that he probably wasn't getting out of the 1st round. Worse case scenario, he's an early pick tonight. MJD pulled that draft projection out of his buttocks. Even if I hate a player I have to acknowledge his value around the league as much as the fans are privy to it. Take Arik Armstead. Couldn't like the player. The most overrated in this draft class, IMO, but I knew that if a team wanted to get him they'd have to do it in round 1. I wouldn't say, "hey...why didn't you wait until the 3rd round for him?" His stock wasn't in the 3rd round. Neither was Jones'.

So just that part of his rant makes the rest meaningless to me. The only thing I can know whether he's right or wrong on is that part of it and he's completely wrong on that.

It's why I always laugh when I hear someone say "you could have gotten him 3 rounds later!"

Haha. I find it so hard to listen to players who never won much of anything. How would he know what it takes?

I'm thinking this a cry for attention. All you have to do is down talk the Boys and you will be a genius in Philly, NY, and DC

And he can't judge the ball in the air and/or make plays on the ball? LOL.

Commanders pick was truly awful.

not really. ideally you want to trade down before taking him, but I had a feeling that he wouldn't slip past NYG. If they wanted him, trading down was risky and the only guy they should have taken over him that was available was Williams.

He has no tape. When you look at his highlights he’s getting beat, he can’t judge the ball, there are so many different things.

I nearly spit out my drink. That is outstanding.

by ***, I meant a pick no one had going any where near there. I don't think I ever saw he mentioned as a possible first rounder, but I may be wrong.

He was a lot like Frederick. Considered a 2nd round choice. But like Frederick, he showed he was worth it.

still makes him a "what the ****" pick, especially considering he was taken at 18 or so. I liked the Frederick pick at the time, but still understood the reaction by most, even though he was picked 31st.

Funny, me no likey Maurice Jones-Drew!

Kiper said the Jones pick was great he loved the pick. Kiper can say more football knowledge in a minute than Maurice Jones Drew ever had in his head to begin with, I put no stock into what Jones drew says in regards to the Cowboys or how to open a box of tissues.

Yet other former players say it was a great pick. So what does this mean? Absolutely nothing.

Remember when Mayock said that about Travis Frederick...

Better buy your Byron Jones jerseys now fellas, we have a future stud on our hands.

Well said,:lmao: and Jones Drew will be working at Mickey D's this time next year with his football expertise.

I agree with MJD's assessment: "When you look at his highlights he’s getting beat, he can’t judge the ball, there are so many different things. Yeah, he’s an athlete, but what is that going to do? At the end of the day, this is football. If you can’t play football, you’ll never be able to play football. I’ve played with some of the greatest athletes, but if they can’t judge the ball in the air, if they can’t understand rout concepts, which I don’t know if he can or cannot."

Gets beat so much that QBs have a low QB rating throwing his way.
