My friend is a Hornets fan and was absolutely depressed after getting destroyed by the Nuggets, he keeps making excuses about how their players weren't healthy, and on and on and I'm like, man, the nuggets kicked your butts. There's no shame in admitting they were a much better team.

I don't think the Mavs have the horses to keep up, the Nuggets are just too big and too fast.

Jason Kidd changed the game when he turned down an easy lay up and went for a difficult pass instead.

Mavs never recovered.

This series is over. Mavs are a better "team" but these guys are just better individually.

To athletic.

I'm not ready to say it's over. Clearly it will be if we drop either of the next two games.

Granted, winning one at thier place is going to be really tough....especially without a healthy Josh. I'm impressed with their D. The pressure wears opponents down at that altitude. That's 15 or or 16 in a row for them now at home.

I guess the 1st step is to protect our home court.

i told you the nuggets would win the first two, come down, the series is far from over, you guys still havent lost at home. game 3 is real huge, *captain obvious* i think the mavs will win that game running away then game 4 is gonna be tight.

Denver is suddenly becoming the favorite of some announcers, specifically Sir Charles Barkley, to go all the way. I know a playoff series doesn't begin until a team loses a home game, but I fear this one is over.

It's embarrassing that TNT puts trash like Barkley on the air.

barkley says ridiculous things to get reactions out of people. like in 2007 when he picked the jazz to win it all after the mavs got beat by the warriors. this is falling along those lines, i doubt he really believes that.

thats also beside the fact that barkley will pick about half a dozen teams throughout the playoffs to win it all, and then when one of those teams wins it all, he is like "i picked them earlier" lol

I'm not talking about his off the wall comments. Hell everyone in the media does that, because it draws a reaction and gets people looking their direction. I'm talking about the fact that he is unscrupulous person (in a whole host of ways) that the world would be better off without him.

I don't openly wish ill will on people, but I believe some people deserve ill and most and when that happens, I just shrug as I believe when a man gets what he deserves, there is no need to feel bad about it. Barkley is a dirtbag in every possible way and if karma is real, then he has something coming. (heart attack? maybe his drunk driving will catch up to him, or maybe a disease from his $2 hoes he likes to pick up.)

I think Barkley, K Smith, and Webber were all wrong about what Dirk meant when complementing Denver's defensive players. They all alluded (incorrectly) that he was admitting that other players could check him when he didn't say that at all. Dirk was being gracious but he sure wasn't saying any of those guys could successfully stop him. Kenny is usually the most guilty with reverting to the NY City street ball code of ethic, but Barkley and Webber were both right there with him this time. It's total BS. if anything, I thought Dirk was sandbagging to assure they still didn't double team him.

Kenny is a fellow Tarheel so I tend to defend him when I shouldn't, but over the past dozen years I've come to believe he is strongly biased against white players...which is just a joke. That's the first time I've thrown that out about anyone, but i do think he has always been biased against the Mavs b/c their best player is not a brother. Just so happens, this year they may be correct that Denver is better. JMO

You are correct. They are wrong. They could be just trying to portray the stereotype that Dirk is soft. A nice observance I heard this morning....In football, there are plenty of times where QBs acknowledge certain CBs are shutdown CBs. They don't even bother to look in their direction or take a chance throwing it their way. Does that mean those QBs are not confident in their abilities? Plus he had a really good individual game stats wise. Its not like the Nuggets suceeded in stopping him. He said something gracious after losing. No big deal.

I respect Sir Charles opinion. I think the NBA guys have a really nice rapport. Denver is too good this year.

Dirk is soft. If you play physical with him, he tends to start playing less aggressive. Kenyon Martin was sending him a message in game one.

It doesn't help that the NBA front office aren't Maverick fans either. If you ask me, Martin should have been suspended as it was clearly an intentional act of violence. The NBA only handing out a fine, made it offical that they sanction violence during games.

...If I made millions a year, I would pay $25k in a heartbeat if it meant a NBA championship.

I'm anti-Lakers and anti-Kings. I hate the Kings more than the Lakers, but when the NBA screwed the Kings out of the Western Conference Finals allowing Kobe, Shaq, and the Lakers into the NBA finals, my outlook on the NBA took a severe hit. Since then, my NBA fandom has been beaten into submission and I hardly EVER watch the NBA regular season and not even half of the Mavs playoff games. I saw a few of the Spurs/Mavs games, only part of the first Nuggets/Mavs game and none of last nights game.

I religiously watch Cowboys games (and many other non-Cowboys NFL games) and use MLB.tv to watch over 100 Ranger games a year. ...but the NBA? To me, it is organized crime. Especially to the gambling community. (I'm not a gambler)

He must have learned to be a punk while living in Dallas. People are nicer here in NYC (Manhattan at least) than they are in Dallas. :laugh2:

I'm not kidding either!

You mean as Dirk lights his "arse" up at will? I think he averages about 30 vs those guys. Or maybe you mean how San Antonio beat them up?

Maybe Denver is just better....
