Yes, it's only one game...the season isn't over, and there's no reason to panic.

However, it was the Commanders and it was in Texas Stadium...they didn't sneak up on us. We didn't underestimate them as we might Cinncy...the Skins simply kicked our butts physically.

It's easy to blame the playcalling of Genius, but what about the defense that gave up 26 points, which is usually enough to get you beaten in the NFL.

We have always said that our OL is NOT a good bunch of run blockers. That game against GB didn't change that. If a team really wants to take away our run game, they can. If they play 8 in the box, you pass, not because you can't grind out a few yards, but because 8 in the box means you should be doing some serious damage in the secondary. We are a passing team.

I base this opinion not on today's game alone...it was my opinion after being torched by Philly and barely pulling out a win...when we crush someone, I tend to think maybe I'm wrong, but games like this make me think I'm right:

I think our OL is pretty good at pass protection, but only average at best running the ball. I think Tony Romo is a pro bowl QB who is still fairly inexperienced as a starter and has a tendency to have some bad games.

I think our defense is enormously over-rated. Other than Ratliff, the other DL starters are not anything to write home about...Spears and Canty are just guys, and the backups are merely backups. The 3-4 is supposed to allow the two middle backers to run freely, but they seldom get into the backfield.

Our secondary is full of talent, but they are only human, and I've always believed TNew was over-rated...good cover guy, but the reason it sucks so badly when he does get beaten is because he almost never balances the scales by making game changing plays. There are guys who give up more big plays, but many of those guys also make plenty of game-changing picks.

We have some young talent in the backfield, and I think the secondary will be better in Nov. than they are right now.

Three games in, and watching GB again today, I'd still say if you look at all three games as a whole, we're lucky to be 2-1. Maybe we'll be the class of the NFC by Dec, but right now I think we're the USC of the NFL...talented, but still flawed and over-rated. We have time to do something about it, but we'd better stay away from the press clippings for awhile. A big win against Cinncy next week doesn't change our status.

This is a good team, not necessarily a great team, and certainly not the greatest team as many thought. The Cowboys have some work to do...at practice.

I believe Dallas is overrated, they haven't won a playoff game in 10 years. A lot of players on this team don't understand how to play in the clutch.

or maybe the east really is that good.

You guys are nuts. We have a good team, the rest of the east is equally good. All that Dallas is more talented crap is fodder for people to watch and listen to talk shows.

All 4 east teams are equal. Any of them can beat the other one at any time.

I hope the team realizes this and doesnt pay attention to the media.

The good thing about a loss like this is, we play at home again next week and we get to play washington again in november.

I couldn't agree more. I've been thinking the same since game 2. It seems we can kick the heck out of bad teams (Browns), but we strugle against good teams.

You combine players that contribute nothing (Canty & Spears) with that incredibly soft zone that allows pass completion after pass completion... the result is a gutless defense.

Canty had a sack today, I think Spears sucks.

No, they are not equal... Nobody can tell me that the Commanders are in any way near the league, talent-wise compared to the Cowboys... OUr coaching philosophy on defense, is predicated on passiveness... Hoe the other team makes a mistake.

We play like a bunch of pansies...

We have the talent there's no doubt about that, it's the mentality that's all wrong and after years of this crap you'd think they'd learn but i'm starting to doubt that's never going to happen with this current team

don't mind Motley, he thinks Aikman couldn't throw a deep ball and that Irvin was nothing but a possession receiver

(he also only shows up when we lose)

You guys are so predictable.

The over reactions are just comedy. We have a special team and one game doesn't change that.

Go cry in a pillow, recover, and be glad you get to root for one of the best teams on a weekly basis.

Washington isn't better than us and it will all play out.

Dallas is a good team, not a great team. Defense is vastly overrated and the coaching staff is the worst in the division.

With the talent and out of division schedule we have, we should win 11-12 games.

But this team doesn't have "it". We don't have the chemistry, don't have the intensity, and don't have the clutch play in crunch time.

There's always a chance they develop "it" or catch fire down the stretch, but I'll believe it when I see it. So far I have yet to see it with this bunch, even going back to Parcell's days.

Oh, we are definitely overrated. Especially by a lot of people on this board. People love to make excuses when we lose but claim dominance when we win. No team is perfect, there are lots of things to prove here.
