Wrong,, yes you can. It’s players and coaches. You can’t suck this bad without it being both.

You may not like Scott, and that's fine.
But he's not wrong in what he says. The Cowboys are cotton soft, from top to bottom. And have been since the day Bill Parcells left Valley Ranch for the last time.
I have no trouble sacking Nolan. Go for it. But its not going to change the toxic culture of this team. Until that's solved, this team will continue to spin it's wheels
No you didn't, and no you don't. It says that Parcells isn't walking on eggshells.
Last game at Texas Stadium. It was a big deal. Jerry wanted to close the stadium with a bang.I can remember when the Ravens came to Jerry world and they physically abused our team that night with Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, plus several others that just made us look like hot marshmallows.
As long as Jerry is making money why should we be complaining. In a word the problem is "comfort" Jerry's comfortable, the coaches are comfortable, the players are comfortable. Only the fans are restless, and from the looks of it we might need to get comfortable with our discomfort
I literally cant care less about ANYTHING you have to say.
Just letting you know
Nolan picks the defensive players? Maybe the GM was trash.
Stop saying folks are giving him a pass
We are 6 games in and you want to can the DC and have little smoke for the defensive players that hve sucked for years
Fans

Yeah I want to can a DC who isn't all that good. I watched a decade go by when the the evidence was obvious that the HC wasn't good enough. I don't want to waste another season or two and a couple of offseasons learning something that is patently obvious.
As for the players, I look at this practically. I can't change the roster right now. They are what they are. Would I fire some of our guys into the sun right now if I could? Sure. But that's not reality. But what is very easy, especially since we have a qualified DC on the staff, is fire Nolan and just rid ourselves of that problem now. Then I can worry in the offseason about getting a better DC and letting him be involved in remaking the defensive roster.
I think Nolan is just one of the many problems. I wasn't in favor of him and his track record is really spotty and he wasn't the DC in his two last jobs before this one.
In all fairness, I do not think Jim Johnson, Dick LeBeau, Buddy Ryan or any other DC could fix this. This is like hiring a chef for your restaurant and putting a pile of hamburger meat in front of him and asking him to make you a Chateaubriand. Would you settle for Sliders?
Sack Nolan and there will be very little improvement and you will certainly be weakening McCarthy. Better to ride this out give them an offseason to put in their scheme. If next year there is little improvement you get rid of both
There’s no accountability for anyone in this organization. Because if the people at the top are never held accountable, no one else can either. It’s really simple.
Where I disagree with you is I think the hiring of Nolan made sense when you are looking to put a new scheme in place. He has over 25 years experience of which I agree he has had his ups and downs, but I still think he knows what is needed. I want to see a hybrid DEF where we can change on circumstance. That's what was sold to Jerry by McCarthy. I think once this is in place we will have an identity for the years to come. With better players the DEF will improve. Let's be honest if there was no salary cap we would be looking to replace nearly every player we have in this unit bar about 3. If Nolan goes McCarthy will be a lame duck, so I think if one goes they both goWasting an offseason can have longer term implications. You let Nolan spend another year putting his crap system into place AND also influencing personnel decisions to fit into that scheme, you are probably causing further issues down the line.
I don't really care about weakening McCarthy at this point. He backed Nolan. It's a disaster hiring. Why throw away another season on bad defense if you realize there is an issue.
That being said, Jerry is too stupid and stubborn to admit a mistake this early. So I have little doubt we are going to throw away another offseason and season (or more) on Nolan. Then we will all look back, like we did with Garrett, and wonder why the hell didn't they see this stuff sooner.
That's not really what it meansDid you fail reading comprehension?
What he meant was that Parcells kept everyone on edge, and Jones felt like he had to walk on eggshells around him. Phillips was a contrast to that. He made the exact same comments when Jimmy Johnson left, and used Switzer as the comparison as to how things were different. Jones had zero concern as to whether Parcells was uncomfortable or not, as evidenced by bringing Terrell Owens into Dallas.
All of this was about Jones' personal comfort level. Jones wants to be free to be himself, at the expense of his operation. Johnson and Parcells were impediments to that, hence the walking on eggshells line.
Well, they are two of the better DC's historically so I agree."Fix" can be a nebulous term.
I don't think Dick LeBeau or Jim Johnson could make these guys into a really good to great defense. So true, I don't think they could "fix" the defense that way. But I absolutely think they'd be able to get more out of this defense than Nolan has.
