Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow...

This year was a step in the right direction.

Teams have bounced back from being blown out to end one season and win championships the next year. Championships.

Now before anyone starts chiming in with so and so were different situations etc, that doesn't mean we are doomed.

2010 is another opportunity to go for #6, and we have as good a shot as anyone.

The last thing I wanna do is argue with fellow fans. But my expectations were lower for this season because we had such a tremendous amount of turnover.

On defense, we lost 5 starters:
Canty
Henry
Thomas
Williams
Ellis

Say what you want about them, they started for our defense and we almost made the playoffs.

On offense, I was happy, but nervous to lose Owens.

Additionally, look at our draft. No first round pick, and certainly nobody we expected to start. We drafted alot of players so they could make an immediate impact on special teams.

I was calling for Spencer's head after those runs at the end of the Ravens game. I dunno. Even the preseason rankings from all of the media had us ranked 3rd in the division. At the beginning of the season, we weren't playing good football, and down the stretch, I saw flashes of really great football. In that sense, I don't know how anyone could be disappointed with our football team this year.

Of all those players, we might have missed Ellis, but that was negated once Spencer came on.

Henry sucked, Canty was a non factor for the giants, Henry went to Detroit...lol, Thomas retired and Roy Williams was trash.

Not gonna argue the quality of each player we lost. It looks like a slam dunk in retrospect. At the time though, switching nearly half of your starting defensive personnel definitely worked out better than I'd ever hoped. Especially watching our young corners flail helplessly in our home opener against the giants. All 5 of those positions progressed throughout the season with Spencer and Jenkins playing like pro-bowlers.
