It was like 14-10 halfway through the second and the defense held Cardinals to 0 in the third and Dak could only manage a FG. Then it was 21-16 into the 4th.

This is a philosophical choice by management- it's how they've chosen to build the D-line, for better or worse. Athletic speed rushers vs. power contain players.

You probably need a combination of both. Give me two giant hogs in the middle and two fast athletic defensive ends that can hold the corners. But what you really need after that is a kick butt MLB. We have none of these. Tank can hold the edge usually though.
