While I hope he turns it around, I never understood the signing to begin with...certainly not having to pull him away as a restricted free agent.
And no one expected McClain to be our best DT and beat out Thornton, if that hadn't happened Thornton would be starting and likely playing well. Or at a minimum, playing much better than Hayden did at the 1T.
I don't see anything in that link where you predicted McClain would be our best DT or beat out Thornton.
Was puzzled by both signings, though I gave the FO leeway given some of their earlier finds.
They need to stop getting cute on the defensive line.
I just hope it doesn't cost us something special this year.
I really pray that Dallas will at least attempt to get a legit, proven pass rusher in here over the off-season. This "by committee" stuff doesn't work.
We could be a scary team if get a consistent pass rush.
Waste of $8million on a prayer.
Welcome back to the offseason. Plenty of us knew the pass rush was in trouble and that this guy wasn't the answer. But, as usual, were told again and again that both the pass rush and Mayowa would be good enough.
But they're not.
Hopefully they can cobble something together from the spares they do have, but it's obvious that pass rush needs to be priority #1 and #2 for the offseason. I just hope it doesn't cost us something special this year.
Maybe they should just cut him loose now and try out tons of free agents and cut their loss .Waste of $8million on a prayer.
gregory would not be able to afford a ticket.
I don't think they got cute I just think they did what they could. I twas either take a shot on the Mayowa's of the world or spend 85 million on the Olivier Vernon's of the world. It wasn't much out there to begin with.
Waste of $8million on a prayer.
Could have also picked up Dwight Freeney who at least has 3 sacks on the year
Mayowa has 2.Could have also picked up Dwight Freeney who at least has 3 sacks on the year
I take it you meant "Player"?
Of course you can cut him........money saved is money saved......whether its 400k or 4mCan't even cut him this offseason. The cap savings is only $400K and there is a $2.2MM dead money hit.
3 sacks in limited snaps. We don't need someone in limited snaps. We need a 3 down guy on that line. We need consistent pressure. Freeney is not getting consistent pressure. I don't understand the fascination with the aging veteran but I really hope next season a younger guy is out there with either potential or skins on the wall.
