Mazi Smith has not recorded a single pressure on any of his 80 pass rushes this season

Call me crazy but did we not see Mazi maul the center and push him back into the QB 2 or 3 times against the Giants I think it was? Were those not considered pressures since he didn't personally get to the QB? I'm pretty sure it caused Daniel Jones to get the hell outta dodge on those plays.
He's definitely collapsed the pocket a few times and looked better than he ever did play season. Wouldn't say he's good, but he's shown progress.

I think many of us are forgetting the reason he was drafted for.

He was drafted simply to take up as much space as possible.

Not fair, Mazi sets the table so the other DL can get to the QB by taking on double teams. He's such a selfless player doing the dirty work.

Zim should move Mazi out to DE on some rushes to free him up like they used to do for Aaron Donald.

What’s strange about Mazi is he seems so small. Yet based off his measurements he’s a prototype for a Zimmer 1T.

He doesn’t seem like he’s 337 at all and doesn’t play like it. I find it hard to believe that he’s bigger than Linval Joseph who’s listed at only 323.

News flash to Jerry and his kid….you’re NOT going to hit on every first round pick, and when you treat that as your big acquisition every offseason, you’re gonna feel on in the field when that happens.

If you’re not talented enough to find cap money for free agents here and there, you’re not gonna win.

But hey, who is smarter than you two?

When was Mazi ever expected to pass rush? He's the fat guy drafted to clog the middle...definitely not "rushing" anyone.

When does he get passing grade ? At retirement ?
I was going to say possibly when he leaves the Cowboys, but I don’t think he’ll ever get a passing grade anywhere. We’re in year two and he continues to look like a bust.

Right I thought he had some pressures too?

It’s semantics, but it depends on how Daniel Jones reacted. If he left the pocket to run or reposition himself to throw, it’s a hurry. If Mazi directly caused him to immediately get rid of the ball right there in the pocket, then it’s a pressure.

He should just stand up and stand still after the ball is snapped.

If D Flaw teaches his D lineman anything it is that year 1 and year 2 do not matter. Break out in year 3. Hold out in year 4. This is the way.
