McCarthy: Aikman's comments don't carry any weight with me

It is funny that Troy waits for the team to be in the gutter to say anything, why didn't he say something before??
He did quite a few times as did others…
Unfortunately, the guy making the decisions knows better than all of them. So he listens to the only tune playing between his ears…
Money rolling in!

I once had a conversation with an ex-Cowboys player by the name of Robert Steele.

Robert Steele was the replacement for Golden Richards after he was traded in 1978 after Tony Hill won the starting receiver job opposite Drew Pearson.

Butch Johnson was Tony's backup and Robert Steele became Drew Pearson's backup......which is why Steele never caught a pass as a Cowboy.

Mr. Steele told me that Drew would grab every rep in practice. After practice, Drew would stay and practice his routes by himself. He would carry a tape measure for exact placement of his feet and position on the field, how many inches he was from the sideline, etc. He was obsessively precise.

Mr. Steele described Drew Pearson's route running saying he "made his cuts like a surgeon." He said that Staubach always knew exactly where Pearson was on the field.

Pearson wasn't big, he wasn't fast, but he always knew, to the inch, exactly where to be and when to be there.

Then let's continue down the path of hiring Coaches that do what Jerry wants.

I would hire BB for 2 years with the intention of him developing our next HC for the 10 years.

BB will bring discipline and accountability. Without that I don't care how much talent you have, you can't win a SB.
BB will NEVER coach this team…

His comments were criticizing the players. The whole team is lazy, unprepared and lacks effort. The WR position is no exception. Troy was so sick of seeing it he felt the need to call them out on it. This is something Dak should have done long ago. They are his receivers and he is allowing this to happen. MM is just defending his players because that is the way we roll in Dallas.

As far as the scheme goes the entire thing is built around what Dak wants to do and what he can do well.

I keep going back to the comments made by Donte Whitner after last year's SF game. Not so much the comment that Dak sucks, but his follow-up explanation. That the Cowboys offense was clearly Limited by the deficiencies of the quarterback. He said there are certain throws that Prescott cannot make and because of that the Cowboys cut off significant portions of the field out of their scheme because he does not have the ability to execute at that level.

It's entirely possible that Aikman's assessment is accurate. Perhaps the scheme and the routes are terrible. What I keep coming back to is, McCarthy was able to scheme a prolific offense when he had Aaron Rodgers throwing the ball, no matter who the receivers were. Yet now all the sudden he can't scheme anybody open?

I would submit that it is much easier for opposing secondaries to defend against us when they are not preoccupied with certain areas of the field because they know that Prescott can't take advantage of them. I think that's the point that Whitner was making, and I think it bears a lot of consideration
You summed it up to a tee and correct that Dak scares no defense.
Every defense in this entire league is well aware of Daks deficiencies and the sharks are swarming and are coming after him.
Especially with bad OL, RB, WR, Scheme...
Just how could poor old Dak even ever have a chance.

Its excuses bro. Im not tryna hear Ceedee and Dak not on the same page. They have been playing together for 5 years now.

The predictability of this offense all stems from this QB needing things dumbed down.

We’ve seen this story before. Dak was supposedly “forcing” the ball to Dez, so he couldn’t spread the ball around. Then they got Cooper after “spreading it around” failed and Dak force fed him. Beasley, who Dak used to force feed, became the scapegoat. Then Cooper…. Now it’s Lamb..

Now Dak gets to experience what guys like Sam Howell and Dak looks even worse than him. It just shows Dak would have been on the bench if he was drafted anywhere other than Dallas, especially a bottom dweller franchise.

We had Dak on the ropes on a play out deal this year, but Jerry choked on the KFC bone once again at closing time.
All Jerry did was extend the process of finding a legit QB because he failed to ever start.
Jerry lucked into Romo and he lucked into Dak, and now his luck is running out.

The idea that the team needed a loss like that, to now, play like Professionals, is laughable.

Country Club Cowboys.
It has nothing to do with the loss. I was just going off of what happened last year where we seemed to completely change the style of offense we were playing after the bye.

The Cowboys are no more of a country club than any other team. The CBA has insured that.

This is nonsense. The recent discussion between Brady and Baker is the perfect example of a winning culture versus a losing one. Brady wanted to win. Baker wants everyone to have fun and feel safe. Aikman knows what he sees. He sees a bunch of losers. Aikman used to tear a strip off the head coach if that is what it took to get the team back on track. The players in Dallas want to have fun and feel safe. It is a country club. I guarantee you Detroit locker room is not a country club. It is fun there for other reasons.

Big Mike doesn't have to take this kind of crap from Troy.....he's already proven himself as an NFL genius after Rodgers won that SB for him.

Werder was just in the radio saying Troy knows what he’s talking about and MM is just trying to save face in front of the team. It isn’t like Dak and Lewis didn’t say the same

Neither of those were "lucky". It was bad luck to get two straight fool's gold fake QBs that appeared just good enough to let Jerry be lazy as GM.

Romo and Dak allowed Jerry to waste 20 years.

Romo was an udfa, and dak was a 4th so very lucky by jerry and this franchise.
Jerry has no idea to even imagine how to draft a franchise QB at this stage in the game, in todays NFL.

Oh, so because Brady wanted to win, that's all it took? And what did Aikman win once all the talent around him went their separate ways? We aren't losing games because we aren't practicing hard enough. We are losing games because we lack talent. From QB on down.
