"Even to a guy like me, that's cold." - The Joker to Batman in the Dark KnightWhich is a good thing. His knees can only sustain so much.
Troy Aikman literally mentioned the QB. Stop whiningI didn't realize this threat was about Dak. I thought it was about MM and Troy Aikman. Or is every threat about Dak?
I get what amounts to lingerie porn taking up half the page every time I log on to the siteAlso, the ads have become beyond brutal on this site ♂️
This doesn't deserve it's own thread but looks like the story is Aikman is "outside the building" lol
Hmmm. If you count the HCs that doubled as OC, is it four? Not positive. That ain't a false statement.
How many OCs has this QB burned through now?
Star players won't play hard for a lameduck staff. They'll protect themselves since they have nothing to prove. MM is a good coach, not a good motivator.Since you've coached, I'm curious as to your take on it. Since McCarthy wasn't renewed and is considered a "lameduck" at this point, is it more him being lazy with the job, or is it the players not executing his schemes properly because they know he's going to be gone either way?
For some, maybe. I don't think it's funny. As the walls continue to close in on the Jerry and Mike show, it's going to really become laughable.
I won't laugh at that one, since I'm bigger than MM.Relish carrying weight. Mike giving us layup here.
How many years have other team's players been saying the Cowboys offensive and defensive schemes are vanilla?Hmmm. If you count the HCs that doubled as OC, is it four? Not positive.
I do know that the current head coach has been here five years and is on his third DC. Something isn’t right there.
Not really knocking Mike (although Nolan was his buddy, and an issue), but there just doesn’t seem to be any certain organizational philosophy or style of play. They bring in a coordinator, try to collect players that fit the scheme, then bail on it and start again before long.
Even when Garrett was here for 400 years, they kept changing OC/DC as if that was the problem.
Edit…..allow me to add that every single one of the schemes (with the exception of Quinn initially, which still had its flaws) seems to be dated from day one.
My response was in reference to the quote of "How many coaches get fired twice and get another chance..." meaning he hasn't been fired and won't be this year.If he gets replaced during the season, then he’s fired. If he coaches out the season and isn’t brought back then his contract wasn’t renewed.
I liked what we were doing on offense last year, though, so I wonder what has changed. Have defenses just caught on to what McCarthy wants to do or is it primarily a personnel problem?Troy, and almost every other NFL film analyst agree that the Cowboys WR routes are trash. The effort and sharpness of individual players is one thing, but the sheer amount of 5-10 yard stops is just unacceptable.
We have nearly the most static and unimaginative offensive scheme in the NFL. It is not doing us any favors.
I don't believe anyone was saying that last year. But it's back this year while we're breaking in two new linemen, a new third receiver now second receiver and playing substandard RBs. I think personnel is limiting what we can do, or at least what McCarthy is capable of doing with it.How many years have other team's players been saying the Cowboys offensive and defensive schemes are vanilla?
He may end up getting fired during the season. He has to finish the season to complete his contract. Jerry said he doesn’t plan on making a coaching change during the season, but that could change if we suffer another embarrassing blowout loss like we did against Detroit. My response was in reference to the quote of "How many coaches get fired twice and get another chance..." meaning he hasn't been fired and won't be this year.
Who doesn’t know at this pointJerry hires people to mimic what he says, if he allows them to speak at all. How or why do we not know this already???
