It's close. They were hanging in there Sunday, but they desperately needed some sustained drives and point support from the offense.yeah..but its HIM falling on the sword. This team isn't near good enuff defensively 2 live and die by it. He knows it.
yeah the offense barely did anymore than they did in the playoffs, defense has no excuse they shouldve predicted that. Not like the interceptions came till after they gave up 21+ points before the freakin half

There will always be games where you just have to score with them. Romo's offenses could do that often. Many can.
Sometimes it's just going to take 30+ points regardless of how good your defense is. You gotta play the game that's on the field that day.
You have now. MM is correct by the way and everybody knows this already.Almost sounds like it’s a power struggle between McCarthy and Quinn. Mike might be afraid that Quinn will be next to get his job. I’ve never heard an offensive coach claim that the “defense is our strength”….especially one that’s paying their QB the way the Cowboys are
i dont even know if we even have a solid defense anymore.Yeah I honestly don't expect them to be good enough to overcome a crap offense against one of the league best offenses, but we need to be clear. They weren't good from the opening whistle.
When we got gouged by the cards I knew this was coming. The free for all on qbs came to an end to maintain run discipline. Whatever we saw the first few weeks was an illusion. So was Sunday night to an extent. The truth lies in the middle.
We have a solid defense, but they are not dominant. If we can't get to the qb without selling out the defense is not elite.
the thing that sucks is with those bang bang type of plays is when youre in that situation where the player is falling or moving down but you cant adjust in time youre probably gonna hit the head, go too low and they prob break a tackle. With the way the league is constructed we may never see another dominant type of defense.
The 3rd down stop were they flagged Dono and Kearse was a perfect example. Taunting is one thing, but the hit that prevented the catch would've been called regardless. What else do you do? Let him catch it?
i think we all knew the offense was gonna be terrible and that the defense needed to step up to keep the game competitive, however two games so far theyve gotten blown out.Our offense is averaging 1.8 TD's a game. Take away the ones that were off turnovers and it's even worse than that. So yeah, guess the defense is on the hook.
Well, scores are low for many teams these days because the quarterback play is so incredibly bad. With the way the league is constructed we may never see another dominant type of defense.

That's exactly the thing that doesn't reconcile. If this were true we wouldn't need a 40 mil a year QB on offense.
This was his plan all along. It's obvious with his way too safe offensive system. Quinn and the D was going to be his scapegoat this year. He knows how Jerry operates. All Jerry needs is scapegoat every year to draw away the fans from going after the real problem.LOL. Way to shift that blame away from your O, Mike.
McCarthy can't say what he really knows to be true. These statements are literally opposite of what they should be saying yet fat Mike, Jerry, radio and others say stupid crap every single day.
It doesn't take a genius to recognize Dak is just an opportunist. That's all a very direct shot at Dak. McCarthy isn't a believer.
