McCarthy focused on pass protection

He says this like Rush didn't have a higher winning percentage.

Let's pretend more Prescott would have changed things last year. He'd have gone 5-0 instead of Rush's 4-1. It was that 5 game stretch that killed us.

Nonsense.

Not sure that has anything to do with MM statement but ok

How could it not? He says it's his goal this year. We saw last year that losing Prescott for more than a month did not negatively affect the team whatsoever. It was irrelevant.

The only reason he would have it as his goal is he believes it will make a difference. He's wrong and I give you the 2022 season to prove it.

Pass rush rate is completely useless, as it sets the win rate to 2.5 seconds, which is the time for a "traditional dropback pass" per ESPNs own definition. It assumes all plays are the same, including a screen. The Bears were a disaster in 2019 as far as OL is concerned. but they were ranked 13th. Why? Because in order for Nagy to compensate, he threw a lot of screens.

Pass block win rate completely isolates the OL, claiming blocking isn't impacted by play design. The QB can have garbage presence like Dak and run right into pressure, even if the OL originally had containment.

Flawed data equals flawed conclusions, especially when the number of seconds in regards to sustaining a block is within a decimal range.

THE EYE TEST definitely matters when interpreting statistics. Anybody that watched Dak in the pocket saw him have plenty of time to throw the ball.

31 other GMs......Naw Bruh!!! You just Hating:laugh:

It's not a Rush love affair. It's a Dak is over-rated affair, as Rush proved it pretty easily.
Do you honestly think there is one GM in the nfl that would take Rush over Dak?
Rush was on the market as a FA the last two years and didn’t get a single offer even as a backup
Some peoples hate makes them delusional

When you are 28th ranked at anything the goal should be to improve it. It’s not like Dak
Dak and cooper sack pct almost the same
Doesn’t matter who’s back there, you want to protect better than we did

He said he goal was to make sure Prescott plays the full season.

I responded with the fact that him playing a full season last year wasn't relevant at all. They won more without him than with him. So that's an odd thing to focus on.

That’s because that’s the QB
If rush was QB they would want to protect him better too

Just last year it didn't matter if your starting QB played the full season. You won more without him.

So our coach reviewed the film and came to the conclusion that they really needed to make sure their starting QB plays all season next year. That was the key to "get where they want".

Simpletons may buy it. I don't.

Fantasy
If rush was so good why has no team made a single offer to him? He’s been a FA the last two years and got no offers
Only a few fans here think rush is a starting QB in the nfl

The more I think about it the more I like it. Witten and Elliott got us into a rut in terms of how we pass protected. The TE were always on routes and the backs were always staying back to pass pro. Hopefully, now we are more versatile and emphasize the backs particularly Pollard more in the pass game.

Online is important, but so is...
1. Pre-snap reads, knowing what will be the best read prior to the snap.
2. Actually seeing this come to fruition, throwing the ball before the break.
3. Pocket movement, not running. Avoiding the rush while keeping your eyes downfield.
3. Quick release, getting the ball out in time, on stride. Marino and Romo were known for their quick release's. Dak looks like he is in slow motion when he is finally ready to throw. Roger's seems to flick his write and the ball is gone.

Its fantasy that the team went 4-1 without their starting QB last year making his absence irrelevant to the overall team success.

That's like fake news to this genius.

You remember Dak fan-boys had declared the season over after the first game, but then Dallas started winning and their new excuse was that Moore needed to run the "same type of offense" he was doing with Rush.
the biggest difference was Rush can read a defense, and his processing skills is not like a sloth running.
