You should expect better.
There were (20) penalties called against the team. Only 17 were accepted. In three situations the other team had more than one choice and they obviously took the more serious infraction. e.g. offside versus roughing the passer.
It was not a good day to see how a second or third string team could gel together. I would imagine it was a lot tougher to assess all the players properly because we were faced with more than our fair share of second and third and longs.
We didn't get any real chance to assess the fg kicking situation. The overall evaluation opportunity was not a "rich" an experience due to the stop and start nature of the game due to infractions.
Hopefully it will improve for the second game.
