It’s a carryover from last season and we got whipped! We had more than twice as many penalties as the Broncos and they looked like a much better coached team. McCarthy can spin what he wants but he has to be very concerned. The team looked like a joke last night.

We had 17 penalties last night there might not have been another team the first week in preseason that had more. We led the league in penalties last season and we picked up where we left off. Now back to Oxnard and camp carnival.

The penalties I’d be more concerned about were the 2 each our top 2 draft choices.

Is Tyler establishing himself as a holder? As he was at Tulsa. That could be a concern, once the history the refs are looking for it.

Is this his new saying? Garrett's was it's a Process and McCarthy's is "it's preseason." You can't even tell how good anybody is with that many penalties. They are drive killers.
Drive killers are bad enough during the regular season. The preseason variety disrupts what you can learn so drives don't die when it counts. It is a vicious cycle.

The lack of discipline under McCarthy has been worse than it was under Garrett. It’s going to end up being his undoing.

This is how you get sucked in by writers, he left out the part where he said the penalties weren't good enough and need to be fixed and then said it's the preseason and they're going to address them. Yet people are too lazy to listen to the pressers themselves
Good post. The reporter pretty much took MM at his word that he could write what he wants. I thought it was pure click bait.

Playing disciplined gives you a great chance. He's immobile and we need to get pressure. Dbs need to stop grabbing. He's very beatable.

Brady isnt fast, but he is as savvy in the pocket as there has ever been.

Everyone is beatable.

LOL we know that already. You said THE BRONCOS didn't have that problem, AND THEY DID. Stop and Stay on topic.
Penalties is the topic and the Broncos only got flagged eight times. That's about average for one game.

Yeah.

That's not a good answer.

That's a no accountability answer.

This sounds like a man that knows he's gone and frankly, if his answer is any indication of how he really feels, then I prefer him gone. We don't need this mindset in the locker room, especially as the head coach.
MM had not received the talking points memo from Jerry at that point. He didn't know what to say and he was trying not upset Jerry by thinking for himself.

Wrong. You said the Broncos didn't have this problem and they did. I called you out on it and you are having a very difficult time with it.

Everyone in here knows the Cowboys had a lot of penalties. You are the only one that thinks the Broncos didn't have the same problem. Pay attention next time.
