RELEASED McCarthy out as Cowboys coach

how can you know its a setback until you know who takes over?

this type of mindset, to me, will call ANYTHING a setback cause it's what you're expecting and/or looking for.
Maybe not in the long run, but now you're putting in a whole new system. That will take time.

We need players, we need talent.

Good for him and the assistants. Get out of that steaming pile of garbage while you can.

I have no idea if Mike McCarthy will get a head coaching job or with which team if he does, but I think he’s a much better coach than he is generally perceived as.

He’s done good work with QBs, coached young rosters, kept players invested during down years (this year) and won a lot of games as a head coach.

I think Chicago and New Orleans are smart to talk to him.

The Famous The Star The Dallas Cowboys As we know it...IS GONE FOR EVER.

Thx Jerry You Boffoon

If in fact the reason comes down to length of contract, was 5 yeare not enough for MM? He had 5 years of a team in it's prime and I don't care about the 12 win seasons, therei s nothing to show for it. This team is in shambles, so do we want MM here trying to rebuild it ground up? Dare I side with Jerry on this one, that MM didn't earn the length he wants? I will reserve judgement to see what jughead comes here to coach, but this time last year we wanted the guy gone. I hope MM lands on his feet and succeeds, but this is needed

Prediction:

Moore in as h/c
McCarthy misses out on a h/c vacancy this year

Next we'll hear that they interviewed Al Harris already and by Wednesday Zimmer will be in charge of the team
I sure as hell don't want that, but if it happens (and I fear that's the backup plan) they better hire an up-and-coming offensive coordinator and name Harris as DC.
