I think (hope) he's right though, every other action we've seen out of MM demonstrates he is his own man. Jerry's not going to be able to hamstring MM, like Garret. I also think (hope) he wont feel compelled to do so because he will have a greater level of trust in MM having skins on the wall. When Jerry admitted Garrett was a coach in training we knew it was bad.

Look I'm sure Jerry had good things to say about Kellen, but ultimately it was up to McCarthy. There was a lot of good on offense last year moving the ball and McCarthy probably felt he could get us off to quicker starts and better Red Zone efficiency in coaching up Moore.

I do not believe there was strong influence here on McCarthy not to call the plays. And its not like McCarthy won't be imvolbed throughout the game.

But it is funny that we'll see McCarthy standing on the sideline next year not calling plays, when so many have been complaining about Jason clapping all this time and "doing nothing."

noone wanted Garrett calling plays and noone was complaining that he wasn't. We just couldn't figure out what a head coach who says absolutely nothing during the game actually does.

I would not be surprised if McCarthy fully believes Moore will be gone in 1-2 years if the teams performs as he expects and wants to work with Moore to learn about his offense. Plus help mentor him the kid.

Yeah its a win/win. Why would MM want to start completely over with a offense that was still very capable? As long as everything goes through him I think its a good plan. My only issue will be if we see the same inconsistencies as last year and continue to make the same mistakes. If MM makes sure Pollard is rotated in and Zeke stay fresh instead of pulling himself at critical times it will be a big step in the right direction. If we dont abandon what is working it will be a big step. If we dont go ultra conservative just because we are playing a good team Ill be thrilled. If none of that comes to fruition than MM and KM will be supremely disappointing.

Yep. That's how I (and plenty of others) saw it. An unnecsaasry, antagonistic, inflammatory statement. And look at the rest of the thread. I was 100% right.

And for the record, I totally agree with you. Jerry respects McCarthy's resume and accomplishments, so I expect him to get the same reverential treatment that guys like Jimmy and Bill got from Jerry.
