The OP's post would mean more if it was a quote made before McCarthy was beholden to Jerry and not as an effort to give up play calling after saying a few times that he wouldn't.

Mike McCarthy relinquished play-calling duties to start last season. After a rocky stretch for the offense, which lacked continuity, the Green Bay Packers head coach took back the job. While he doesn't regret the decision, he won't be surrendering those duties in the future.

"I'll never do that again," McCarthy told Tom Pelissero of USA Today.

Kellen also has no experience with the WCO but McCarthy suddenly trusts him to fully run the new offense. Even worse, we aren't even changing the terminology. McCarthy had this great plan for the next team he was going to HC and you want people to believe this plan called for him not calling the offensive plays and adapting his system to the previous terminology?

Come on now. I know many here like to keep their head in the sand but you guys have to recognize the telltale signs of the last 2 and 1/2 decades.

Kellen Moore is going to be allowed to call the plays but Big Mike will be calling the shots. Moore will be on a short leash until he proves it's not needed.

McCarthy is at least smart enough to sell it his way. But no doubt the Joneses made it clear that they wanted him to stay. And then I am sure that Moore demanded that he call plays or he would be gone.
