If the reasoning for any player, and in this case McFadden, needing a change of venue from the Raiders. It will revitalize his career. So it should be used for Johnson as well. Maybe this team is just what he needs also.
Not souring on DMC, nor saying we need Johnson. But why not bring him in at this point. Unless he is seeking a big contract.

Yeah, because they're beyond reproach and neeeevvvveeeerrrr make mistakes.....

I didn't say that. But they've seen Darren and Chris more recently than we have. Who are we to judge?

And while we're at it the front office is on a hot streak at the moment. Have some faith.

Oh and remember that rb is fungible.

You are probably right, the Cowboys have too many "what-ifs" at RB.

McFadden has a history of hamstring problems and was having an issue with his hamstring back in June. After he returned from it around June 17th he claimed it was 100% but now here we are in late July and he's been put on PUP to start training camp with a hamstring. Naturally the Cowboys are playing it off like it's no big deal and that he'll be back in week or so but it is a big deal when you take into account his injury history especially with this particular injury. Hamstring injuries have been a nagging problem for McFadden when he starts having hamy issues they keep reoccurring. Below is his injury history.

Maybe they're waiting to see what McFadden does in training camp...if he ever gets on the field. I don't think he is reliable but we'll see. I hope the organization has a plan.

We're people with minds of our own. It's not a sin to disagree with what the team does from time to time when we disagree with it.

I have great faith and plenty of praise for them. Just not blind faith or enough to think them beyond question.

Oh and remember that rb is fungible.

They're all question marks and the Cowboys decided instead of banking on an RB they'll bank on their OL. This is one of the biggest football gambles Jerry has ever taken we'll see if it pays off or blows up in his face.

Here's a mailbag question regarding this discussion:

Randy Seedle
Wake Village, TX
Now that Ryan Williams has been released and Darren McFadden is on PUP, how much longer before we start to see the Cowboys bringing in running backs for workouts? Are the price tags for Chris Johnson and Ray Rice just too high, would the Cowboys rather have someone younger, or do they just really want to see what Joseph Randle has? Personally I hope he can be the man, but I question the "depth" at the position. What do you guys think?

Bryan: I have said this since day one – if they make a move it's going to be on a trade. They are in a position with their own selections and potential high compensatory picks to make a deal that can handle how they need to address the position.

David: They’re not going to look around until they’re more convinced that McFadden can’t stay healthy. The company line right now is that McFadden will be back in a week or so, and if that’s true, then this shouldn’t be an issue. If his injury problems persist into the preseason, then I’d expect you’ll see some movement. But that’s still a week or two away.

They do have a plan trust me. Everyone just needs to relax and see how things play out in trading camp. If action Needs to be taken I assure you the Cowboys will take action.

Perhaps the team is reasoning that they were able to solve the hamstring issues the team suffered in years past, they may can help DMC.

Willie mcginest is at our camp and he said he looks fine. Seems precautionary more than anything. People overreact all over with McFadden. Same sitch as Murray from last year. Before last year people hated on Murray. Now the same w Darren. We'll see what happens.

I'm going off of the only numbers that matter! What both players have and have not done in the league. I know it's an inconvenient truth for you.

Under 4 yards eh? Would those "under 4 yards" still be significantly better than McFadden's? You can look at the numbers through any lens you'd like. Johnson's are better in every way.

And even if you threw out each and every one, Johnson still wins based on reliability alone!

1 is on our team and 1 isn't. Guess McFadden wins

Of course. I just acknowledge that the team has more information than I do. Than you do.

I mean they DID bring in CJ for a look.

I've been obsessed with the predator since the first movie lol

I thought all the predator movies were good to entertaining.

Didn't care for AVP part 2. It was jus bad.
I did like AVP.

Predator 1 and even part 2 was good.

Predators was whack though!

If you're shutting your brain off and assuming the Cowboys to be infallible? Sure.

I think for myself and don't let someone else do it for me.

Hang on to those YouTube highlights!

You just got your clock cleaned with some facts here.

You're going off old Chris Johnson numbers. If that's the case I can pick old 2011 mcfadden numbers. Cj hasn't gone over 4 ypc in 2 years. So he's also been on the decline. So again what sense would it make to replace a "suck" mcfadden according to you with a "suck" Chris Johnson?
Chris Johnson averaged 4.3 yards last year

:lmao2:At all the negativity...I knew it would attract them all......:lmao2:

Just posted the link, not saying I agree or disagree.....but can't blame fans for their opinions, and rightfully so based on history....but I'll take JG's word for it. Then see how he holds up when he returns.
Hate those dang hammy things, even a tweaked hammy has concerns.

Normally I'd like to take Garrett's word as well but he has been notoriously optimistic and more importantly.. WRONG.. about these types of injuries. Remember all those times he said that Austin should be back shortly or Claibornes injury or.... etc etc. He just doesn't tell the truth about these sorts of things.

You guys need to back off we have a plan its Grandpa McFadden and the underwear guy. This screams the need for a rb it's time to panic.None of the current candidates will make it through the season.I would have paid .HE LED THE LEAGUE IN RUSHING LAST YEAR.Downplay that all you want Tony Romo better watch out they will blitz him out the wazzoo..He might hit a few and they will hit him a few right between that vertebrae like last year.I am not a naysayer but I get tired of everyone saying DeMarco will not be missed because he will be missed, admit it.
